3 Color Trends Our Editor in Chief Is Backing for Spring

I love wearing color now, but it wasn't always that way. I used to say things like, "I'll get way more use out of this black dress," and, "There's no way I can pull off that shade." I had excuse after excuse, but it turns out incorporating color into my wardrobe has not only made curating OOTDs 100% more fun, but it's made my style 100% better.
Our editor in chief, Kat Collings, is an even bigger fan of colorful fashion, so I'm leaning on her for inspo this spring. She's all about three color trends this season, and she's wearing those colors from head to toe. "It may seem intimidating, but the beauty of a bold monochromatic look is you don't have to bother figuring out which colors pair well. It's one and done, if you will," she explains. Want to see precisely what she means? Keep scrolling for three of her looks in this season's must-have colors from the elevated-essentials brand that always comes through season after season: L'AGENCE.
"Of all three looks, this one did not come to play! I had no idea I could pull off an electric-green outfit, but it was easier than I imagined. When you have a look that's on the bolder side, accessories should also carry some weight, which is why I opted for a chunky gold collar necklace. As someone who often goes straight from the office to an evening out, I love the absolute versatility of a suit. I swear nothing works quite as hard in your wardrobe. I'd pop a cami underneath the blazer for a meeting and wear the blazer as a top like I did here for a night out. I'm a big fan of L'AGENCE's blazers, in particular. I don’t know another brand that has a more flattering, tailored fit." — Kat Collings, editor in chief

"Isn't this lavender color heavenly? It feels like spring personified. A matching set will always have my heart because it's the easiest way to look put together. Plus, you can also wear the items separately. I love how you can adjust how cropped you make the top depending on how it's tied. I'd wear it styled like this to a daytime event like a baby shower. As for the accessories, I wanted to do something a bit more unexpected, so I made a little color medley with a goldenrod satin bag and blue strappy heels." — Collings

"One of my favorite tricks for making bold color manageable is to look for accessories within the same color family. The vibrant watermelon color of this slip dress found its match in a pale-pink strappy heel. The perfect outfit for a summer wedding, no? I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the impeccable fit of this dress. Is it just me, or do slip dresses often run a bit shapeless? It's rare for me to find one that highlights my figure while still draping elegantly, but L'AGENCE nailed it with this one." — Collings
