The Spring 2018 Starter Pack: Basically Everything That's Cool Now
Welcome to the Starter Pack series, a Who What Wear column that dives deep into the seasonal trends everyone's talking about.
Feeling a little late to the game on your spring shopping? Fear not, for we have created the ultimate spring starter pack for you to use as a jumping-off point. You can thank us later, but basically, we figured you could use a little cheat sheet for the biggest spring 2018 trends so you don't have to do any more digging. The coolest product trends on the market right now can be found below, organized into festive little groups.
This time around, since I know we talk about trends a lot, we decided to opt out of a runway-only focus and instead stick to the trends we've seen everywhere: worn on influencers, sold by every cool retailer, and of course, flooding the feeds of our Instagrams. In other words, the products ahead are the cream of the crop when it comes to what's "in" now. All you have to do is shop them.
Need some new IG eye candy? These beaded bags will quickly become your new favorite prop and carryall. They are so quirky that they manage to go with just about everything.
This spring, the more volume your sleeves have, the better. Whether it be a dress, a crop top, or some fun take on a classic button-down, puffy sleeves are all we can think about right now.
Bet you never thought puka shells would come back, did you? Well, they are, and designers both well known and up-and-coming have hopped on the oceanic train. Go traditional with a seashell necklace or opt for a modern take with a pair of statement earrings.
Hopefully, you aren't tired of hearing us talk about lavender, because we definitely aren't ready to shut up about it. The color of the season (maybe even the year) is perfect for so many reasons. Scroll down to understand our love for the color if you're not already a fan yourself.
Wear cowboy boots with everything this spring, including floral dresses, colored denim, suits, and more. If you're looking for that one pair of shoes you can literally wear with anything, cowboy boots are your best bet.
Yes, colored denim is a thing again, and we fully support it. End of story.
The hair accessories you wore as a small child are bubbling up again this spring, but scrunchies are hands down our favorite among the resurgence. Wear them in your hair or even on your wrist for a casual addition to an arm party.
T-shirt-and-jeans kind of a person? Us too. This year, we're encouraging you to spice up your springtime aesthetic with sandals that have all the colors of the wind. Rainbow straps are the easiest way to add some pizzazz on those days when you don't really feel like trying.
Forget florals—spring 2018 has been embracing fresh fruits of all kinds on everything from jewelry to handbags to dresses.
Feeling ready for spring now that you have a handy starter pack on deck? Good, we thought so.
