It may seem odd to admit to being obsessed with "ugly" trends, but alas, I am. I think I chalk it up to my undying love of a good shock factor somewhere in my outfit. Be it a cow print boot, feather-adorned sleeve, or completely see-through pants (yes, I've gone there), I am always adding something to spice things up. "Ugly" trends are a no-brainer when it comes to this urge of mine and this year, the trend just so happens to be a sporty one. Sportswear of all kinds dominated the S/S 21 runways including track pants, hoodies, and today's star, sporty sunglasses.

Sunglasses that look like they could either be Oakley's or picked up at your local gas station are oddly enough the accessory trend to be seen in this spring. In-your-face colors, aerodynamic shapes, and translucent lenses are about to take over your Instagram feeds so if you're in the mood to partake in the latest "ugly" craze, I can't back this one enough. While Bottega Veneta resurfaced this shocking trend last season, Marine Serre, Balenciaga, and Sportmax proved 2021 is the year of the sporty sunny, and we are so here for it.

Below, take a look at some of my favorite sporty sunglass moments on the runway and shop the pairs you'll need to get the look.

Lean into the sportswear trend and pair your new sunnies with a matching track suit and sneakers.

Add a pop to an all-black look with a bold white pair of sunglasses. Translucent blue lenses are a plus.

This look is proof that you don't need to overthink the styling of this trend. Just grab your favorite graphic tee and you're golden.

Opt for a monochromatic look by matching your new sunglasses to your outfit. We love the combination here of knitwear with bright eyewear.

One more Miu Miu look before you go. I love how these are paired with a more delicate mini dress.
