Your box-fresh Adidas Originals Stan Smiths may be delightful for a weekend, but when it comes to the daily commute—and the general switching over of about three pairs of shoes depending on your schedule—white sneaks don't really cut it. Chunky gleaming trainers with a smart work ensemble? Daz-white lace-ups with black opaques? It's all unfortunately wrong and could well set your day up in the least inspiring way. 

There are, however, plenty of trainers that can work subtly in your favour when dashing around is a priority but looking pulled-together isn't at the bottom of the list.
