No One Is Wearing This Sneaker Style Anymore
When it comes to footwear choices, there's one style that's reigned supreme for the last few seasons—sneakers. Sure, we can't get enough of ankle boots, stilettos, and everything in between, but trainers just have that way of making anything we're wearing that much cooler (and comfier). While we've seen a rise in all-white sneakers and more athletic kicks, there's a particular trend we're seeing less and less of among the cool-girl set.
To pinpoint the sneaker style nobody is wearing anymore, we tapped Hallie Spradlin, accessories editor at trend forecasting company, Fashion Snoops, to spill on the trend that's out. The result? Exaggerated, chunky silhouettes like sneaker wedges are over as people are opting for cleaner, more streamlined iterations.
Keep scrolling to learn more about the sneakers you should avoid this fall. Plus, go a bit further to shop some of the kicks totally worth investing in.
"We are moving away from exaggerated styles like chunky sneaker soles or wedge sneakers. People ultimately want a functional shoe, so classic tennis shoe silhouettes are key. Design details such as monochromatic soles and laces keep the sneaker feeling clean and updated, while implementing unexpected laces such as ribbon or paracord are a chance for a touch of personality." — Hallie Spradlin, Fashion Snoops
Shop the sneakers everyone is wearing:
The metallic accent on the back gives these an extra-fancy feel.
Gigi Hadid approves of these "dad shoes."
We'd wear these with cropped flares and a moto jacket for weekend brunch.
It's the details that make these extra-special.
