Suddenly, Everyone Is Wearing This Classy Top With Jeans and Wide-Leg Trousers
In the upper echelons of the wardrobe world sit a few super-luxe fabrics. For their inimitable qualities that no synthetic imitator could ever sincerely match, natural fibres including silk and cashmere retain the top spots as the most luxurious, comfortable and exciting materials to wear. But whilst spring naturally lends itself to light-knit styling, I'm keen to take silk pieces for a spin this season. With a luxurious finish that balances robust lustre with a smooth touch, a silk blouse is the opulent wardrobe addition I'll be wearing all season.
When it comes to assembling outfits, you'll find that a silk blouse is something you'll reach for over and over again. Style with pair of rich velvet trousers for a cocktail event, or wear underneath a classic wool blazer and or trench coat and finish with jeans as you head into the office.
As a luxury fabric, silk will often come in at a higher price point than its synthetic satin counterpart. Luckily for us though, high-street heroes such as Mango, H&M and Zara have all tried their hand at designing items in this premium material, creating beautiful garments that fall within a friendlier cost bracket.
Screaming "quiet luxury" like not many other fabrics can, a simple silk blouse is the outfit-elevating solution to your outfit conundrums this season. Read on to discover our edit of the best styles from Reformation to Saint Laurent below.
