Shrimps Strikes Again: Meet the New Faux-Fur Coat Everyone Wants

It's official: We're a nation of faux-fur obsessives. We didn't necessarily realise it before 2013, when London-based designer Hannah Weiland launched her brand, Shrimps, but one look at her continued popularity three years on, and it's clear to see the British fashion contingent just love getting snuggly.

In the first season, it was her striped, faux-fur, teddy-like coats that captured the hearts and wardrobes of style mavens such as Alexa Chung and Laura Bailey. Since then we've enjoyed all manner of Shrimps-related goods—from clutch bags to shaggy stoles, plus various non–faux-fur ready-to-wear, too. But now it's specifically another piece of outerwear girls are queuing around the block for.

For Resort 2016, Hannah developed a curly faux sheepskin that reminds her of her poodle-cross Lionel's coat and she's used it for speckled coats with contrast-trim hems and sleeves, as well as accessories, cropped jackets and gilets. These styles have been notching up front row fans and been spotted on the likes of Florence Welch and Lily Allen. Scroll down to see these poodle-inspired pieces on the streets and keep going to shop the range now!

Style Notes: Olga Karput goes all-out wacky in her Shrimps coat with brocade separates, silver shoes and a neck collar. More can be more, if you're feeling brave enough.

Style Notes: You don't need to accessorise heavily when a statement coat does the talking. Elizabeth Fraser-Bell just adds pull-on boots and a plain grey scarf.
