Shopbop’s fashion director, Caroline Maguire, is one of our go-to resources for expert-driven shopping lists. After all, she’s built a storied career in the industry and is currently at the helm of a fashion department at one of the largest retailers out there. In fact, she recently shared some of the summer must-haves she swears by. Next up, we thought we’d focus on accessories—specifically, the shoes and bags that Maguire loves and that are also trending for Shopbop customers.

Below, you’ll uncover an edit of gorgeous shoes and forward bag silhouettes that are all equal parts versatile and effortlessly chic for the season. There’s everything from stunning sandals to wear-everywhere bags. Keep scrolling for testimony from Maguire, as well as a range of visual and shopping inspiration.

1. Woven Wonders

"When it comes to accessories, it’s all about playing with texture this season. There are so many interesting woven bags for every occasion in a range of materials (leather carryalls, raffia clutches, straw totes) and sizes (from large to mini)! Mixing materials, as seen in DeMellier’s Mini Santorini Tote, elevates the classic beach bag and makes it the perfect choice for an alfresco soirée. The woven craze also extends to shoes that are neutral and easy, from wrap sandals with rope details to raffia loafers and woven leather slides. You can’t go wrong!" — Maguire

2. Wrap Sandals

"From chic flats to sky-high heels, strappy shoes continue to be everywhere. My favorite iteration of the trend is a flat lace-up but with a chunky sole like these Ilio Smeraldo x Geraldine Boublil wrap sandals in a light orange color. I like pairing a bulky sole with a feminine dress to balance out the overall look." — Maguire

3. Platforms

"I am beyond excited that platforms are back. They add a dose of funk to any summer look. Whether paired with wide-leg denim or a babydoll dress, they automatically make whatever you are wearing look that much cooler. The fact that I can rock a platform all day into night also makes me a forever fan of this style. From Simon Miller’s vegan flatforms to Ganni’s lug-sole strappy sandals, I’ll be sporting this blast from the past as long as I can!" — Maguire

4. Cylinder Bags

"I love bags in updated, interesting shapes, and the cylinder bag is one of my new favorites. It’s the perfect shape for a shoulder bag—convenient for a night out or if you just need something easy to run around with. Manu Atelier has been a pioneer of this shape, and now we’re seeing it show up all over the summer/pre-fall runways, from Loewe to Dior." — Maguire

5. Street Sneaks

"I’m a total sneakerhead, and I love a Dunk-style court sneaker for every day, especially with a cute mini sundress on the weekend or with a sweatsuit and high socks for travel. The collaboration between Marni and Veja is genius with pops of colors that look like marker scribbles—a childhood art project brought to life!" — Maguire

6. Crisp Cloth Bags

"Summer is for lightweight materials and canvas carryalls like this adorable one from Fanm Mon to throw all your essentials in. You’ll likely find Supergoop! sunscreen, a cool pair of shades, and even a portable speaker in mine. Smaller versions with leather details like these options from Staud and Ancient Greek Sandals still hold a ton and can take you from day to night." — Maguire
