Thank God I'm a VIB—Sephora's Holiday Savings Event Will Save You So Much Cash
If you know me at all, you know that I am a beauty-product loyalist. Once I find a product that I like, I stick with it, and I will happily pay full price to make sure that it’s always in my arsenal. Unsurprisingly, most of my favorite products can be found at Sephora, where I happily shop all year, but I’m always excited for its annual Holiday Savings Event. This is the one time of year that I’m able to save a little bit of money while still indulging in my favorites, and this year, I’ve been busy putting together a list. Not only can I stock up on all my favorites, but it’s also the perfect time to get a head start on my holiday shopping (and as a beauty editor, I love gifting my friends and family with all things beauty).
If you’re a VIB at Sephora, today is the perfect day to start your beauty shopping. From November 9 to 15, VIB Beauty Insiders will get 15% off their entire purchase. If you’re a Rouge Beauty Insider, you’re able to get 20% off your purchase from November 5 to 15, and Beauty Insiders get 10% off from November 11 to 15. All you have to do is use the promo code YAYHOLIDAY at checkout, in-store or online. All tiers of Beauty Insiders are able to get 30% off Sephora Collection products from November 5 to 15—no promo code required. Since I’m a VIB and I’ve been planning what I want for months now, scroll down to see everything I already have in my cart.
The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is a perfect product, full stop. I use it religiously every night before I go to bed (and sometimes I use it during the day). After I use it, I wake up with pillowy-soft lips that feel insanely moisturized. All of the flavors smell amazing, so I'm going to use this savings event as an opportunity to stock up on every single one.
Ellis Brooklyn's newest perfume is basically like if you bottled the feeling of sitting in front of a roaring fireplace wrapped in a blanket. It's mesmerizing and unique, which makes it the perfect fragrance to add to your arsenal.
This lip oil basically does everything you could possibly want a lip product to do. It's hydrating and nourishing thanks to a blend of rose-hip oil, jojoba oil, shea butter, and grape-seed oil. Unlike many lip oils, this one is long-wearing, tinting your lips while adding shine.
Sheet masks are one of my favorite things to gift people with. I’ve yet to meet a person who doesn’t enjoy using a sheet mask every now and then. This set comes with a whopping 20 skincare products—18 masks and two mini packs of face wipes. This is perfect for the skincare enthusiast in your life, but I’ll also share my favorite life hack with you. Buy this set, open it up, and attach a mask or two to every gift you give for an added touch (and keep a couple for yourself in the process).
I used to be an eye-cream denier in that I genuinely did not think that eye creams did anything for me at all. That is until I tried this. Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado is moisturizing and plumping and genuinely makes my dark circles appear lighter (a tough job).
Once the weather starts to get colder, my skin gets incredibly dry. I've been eyeing this rich face mask for a while now—it's the perfect mask to put into my arsenal now that temperatures are starting to drop.
This body serum is my secret weapon to combatting dry, flaky skin. Smooth it on while your skin is still damp from the shower, and seal it in with a body lotion (or body butter, if you need an extra boost of moisture) for skin that feels soft and supple even if your apartment heat is blasting and the air outside is frigid.
One of the most comfortable liquid lipsticks I've ever used, this whipped formula doesn't dry out your lips. It lasts throughout the day without caking and with minimal transfer to cups—even when you're drinking hot coffee.
A celebrity makeup artist told me that this is her all-time favorite mascara, and once I tried it for myself, I could see why. The curved brush fits the shape of your eye and grips every single lash while you brush through for a fanned-out, volumized effect.
Newsflash: You still need to apply sunscreen every day, even in the dead of winter. Use this savings event as a time to stock up on SPF. This sunscreen from Supergoop! goes on invisibly—you can't even tell you're wearing anything on your skin. It also acts like a grippy primer under makeup.
Jo Malone fragrances are nothing short of iconic. This discovery set is the best way to try a few of the elegant fragrances without breaking the bank. Snag it while it's under $20 for a sophisticated stocking stuffer (and maybe buy another one for yourself just because).
I never forgo a blow-dry spray when I'm styling my hair to protect it from heat damage, but this one is so much more than your average blow-dry spray. This spray uses heat exposure to actually shape your hair and impart a natural-looking hold onto your style, which means that every time you use it, you're about to have a really good hair day.
Think of this as your ideal Sunday-afternoon face mask. Pumpkin and apricot-seed powder help slough off dead skin cells and reveal radiant skin—plus, it smells like cinammon.
YSL Beauty’s Nu Bare Look Tint is packed with 15% glycerin to keep skin soft and dewy and ultra-fine pigments that blend easily into your face. For $32, it's a steal. This skin tint does exactly what I want it to: It gives me an enhanced version of my skin.
I swear to you this face oil makes skin look noticeably brighter and more even. Turmeric, ginger root, and vitamin C help boost radiance. I like applying this over my moisturizer to lock in hydration.
Nine times out of 10, when someone asks me, "What's on your lips?" the answer is Dior Lip Glow Oil. It looks like a gloss, but it wears like an oil—no stickiness at all, and it's intensely moisturizing. It also uses Color Reviver technology to match your lips, so it really does look good (and different) on everyone.
I have really thick hair that's prone to getting poufy when I don't want it to, especially while I sleep. Once I switched to this silk pillowcase, I noticed an immediate difference—I woke up with smoother, frizz-free hair no matter how much I tossed and turned. Bonus: It also helps improve skin hydration by not absorbing moisture.
No matter how many fragrances I wear, I always go back to this one. It is the most mesmerizing, alluring scent. Rare black orchid blends with black truffle and patchouli for a sumptuous fragrance that you won't want to stop wearing. I happily pay full price for this fragrance whenever I run out, so being able to save on it means I'm stocking up.
Nothing is more divisive in the beauty industry than primer—some people swear by it, and some people swear that it doesn't do anything. In my opinion, primer is only necessary if it's a really good primer, and Tatcha's primer is the best. It evens skin tone, cancels redness, and smooths uneven texture for a flawless canvas to apply makeup on.
If I have a fatal flaw when it comes to makeup, it's that I tend to apply blush a bit too liberally. I think flushed cheeks make you look playful and fun. This blush gives the perfect lit-from-within glow, and you can also swipe it on your lips for a polished, monochromatic look.
I am all about multitasking beauty products, and this tinted moisturizer–and-sunscreen hybrid is perfect for days when I want to simplify my routine. It also gives my skin the dreamiest dewy finish, and unlike many glowy skin products, it doesn't slide around throughout the day or transfer (which is particularly important as we continue wearing masks).
