When you think about companies that have single-handedly shaken up the activewear industry, Outdoor Voices is probably the first to come to mind thanks to founder and CEO Tyler Haney. At just 25 years old, Haney, a Boulder, Colorado native and graduate of Parsons School of Design, founded Outdoor Voices. What was once just a concept Haney came up with in her bedroom now boasts well over 100 employees, $56 million in funding, 10 stores (and counting), and an army of loyal fans that swear by the stylish, functional styles. Not to mention the popular #DoingThings hashtag that the Austin-based company coined.
It's hard to believe that Haney had a whole other career before building her Outdoor Voices empire, but this is Second Life, after all, so you know the drill. Haney's career began at a fashion startup incubator. Given that she moved around departments, from e-comm to finance to marketing, she undoubtedly learned a lot that would help her in eventually launching her own company.
