Most game-changing companies are built when a rare gap in the market is not only realized but also understood—and that is exactly what happened when Rachel Drori founded Daily Harvest. In 2015, Drori had an epiphany. Though she was equipped with the knowledge of how to eat healthily, she continually compromised on wholesome, nourishing foods for the sake of convenience. "It was a symptom of the problem we all feel. We know what we should be eating to take care of ourselves, but somehow, we can’t or we don’t. The world puts up more roadblocks than roads. I wanted to do something to change it. That’s why I started Daily Harvest,” reveals Drori.

A brand dedicated to creating healthy solutions that are clean, convenient, and personalized, Daily Harvest has modernized the way Americans eat by sourcing organic fruits and vegetables that are picked at their nutritional peak, frozen on the farm within hours of harvest, chef-crafted for premier taste, and delivered in a pre-prepped package directly to customers’ doorsteps. Today, the brand has grown from just one employee into a team of more than 200 people who believe in Drori's mission. Daily Harvest has expanded into over 85 items across ten collections, including Harvest Bowls, smoothies, mylk, and flatbreads, that are packaged in 100% compostable and recyclable materials and available nationwide. There is no doubt that others felt the same frustration as Drori, so in Daily Harvest’s Series B round of funding, Drori raised $43 million from VCs and notable investors such as Serena Williams, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Bobby Flay.

Prior to taking the leap to provide a solution and completely change the way we eat daily, Drori worked as a customer-centric marketing executive, a career that came naturally to her, leading teams at highly esteemed companies such as Gilt Groupe, American Express, and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Head to Apple PodcastsSpotify, or anywhere else you listen to subscribe to Second Life and to hear how Drori drew from her past experiences in marketing to build a brand that is truly making a difference in the world.
