This week, we're rebroadcasting and expanding upon one of our favorite Second Life episodes from the archives with Mandy Moore.
It's hard to believe that Mandy Moore has been in the public eye for 20 years. That's right, the singer, songwriter, and actress's hit song "Candy" hit the airwaves in 1999, solidifying her as a full-on pop star. Moore went on to sell over a million copies of her first album and tour with *Nsync and the Backstreet Boys, which led to her on-screen debut in The Princess Diaries in 2001. Since then, Moore has added a slew of film and TV gigs to her résumé as well as six albums.
In 2016, Moore landed the role of Rebecca Pearson in NBC's addictive hit show This Is Us. But Moore told Second Life host Hillary Kerr that growing up in Florida, she wanted to be on Broadway but ended up getting her start in music by singing the National Anthem at local sporting events before, believe it or not, being discovered by a FedEx delivery driver at the age of 15.
