Finally, a Trend That Feels Genuinely New Has Arrived at Zara, ASOS and More
This summer, it was all about earthy colourways, tonal ensembles and rustic fabrics—head-to-toe white was commonplace, and every single accessory was rendered in raffia. If you weren't wearing an outfit that looked like it had sprung out of the ground, then where have you been? Enter scarf print, the new season trend coming to smash summer's minimalist mood in all its print-clashing glory. On the A/W 18 runways, designers, including Richard Quinn, Toga and Salvatore Ferragamo, took traditional scarf motifs and blew them up to create a plethora of elaborate creations, from asymmetric dresses and draped tops to accented jackets and maxi skirts. High-street brands such as Zara and ASOS have also got in on the action with equally showstopping offerings at reasonable price points. All we're going to say is this: If you're going to invest in a statement dress for autumn, make it scarf print because you're going to see this trend everywhere in two months' time. Style Notes: Vens Wife style throws back to the noughties with this DVF scarf top. One for your 'nice top and jeans' repertoire.
Style Notes: Preen shows us how head-to-toe scarf print is done with this show-stopping gown. Love the addition of a patent bag.
Style Notes: Clearly scarf top and jeans is a becoming a thing. Monikh Dale pairs hers with straight leg jeans and raffia accessories.
Style Notes: Scarf print had a starring role in Loewe's SS18 collection, which included this paisley-strewn asymmetric number.
