$14 and Under: This Aesthetic Bodycare Brand Will Overhaul Your Shower Routine
As a beauty editor, I'm obsessed with body care products. In fact, I have a whole bathroom cabinet dedicated to my favorite body washes, scrubs, lotions, and serums. While I haven't counted the number of products I keep in there, I know it's somewhere in the teens or twenties. That might sound like a lot, but I'm always testing different formulas, and at the end of the day, I want to make sure I'm treating the skin on my body like I treat the skin on my face (with lots of TLC and the right active ingredients).
If you peeked in my bathroom cabinet, you'd see that many of the products I keep in there are from the same brand, as there are multiple rainbow-hued pump bottles with the same name branded across the front in a bold white font. The brand is Saltair, and it's making a name for itself with affordable yet effective products that are all $14 and under.
Saltair makes body washes, lotions, oils, mists, deodorants, shampoo, and conditioner. Every product belongs to a specific collection or scent. And these scents are where this brand thrives. The brand has nine of them, and each one is incredible in its own right. Some are soothing and spa-like. Others are bright and uplifting. No matter what scent profile you're drawn to—warmly woody, floral, or sweet—there's a scent for you.
I use a Saltair product (or two) every day. And no matter which one I reach for, it makes my shower routine feel luxurious... like something I get to do rather than have to do. Keep scrolling to discover my favorite scents and shop for the best body care items for each one.
1. Exotic Pulp
This is one of my favorite Saltair scents. It's the one that initially made me so obsessed with the brand. It's described as "bright and tangy" and "fresh and juicy," and I couldn't agree more. Even though I don't love bold scents, I could smell this one every day (and I often do). The notes of juicy orange and guava are uplifting and energizing, which is why I reach for this collection for a morning shower. It never fails to start my day out right.
With vitamin C, camu camu, and passionfruit oil, this body wash promises to brighten the skin and leave it soft, smooth, and clean.
The body lotion contains niacinamide and a multi-fruit AHA blend to brighten and improve tone while moisturizing the skin.
2. Seascape
If Exotic Pulp is bright and uplifting, Seascape is soothing and spa-like. It's all thanks to notes of grapefruit, ylang-ylang, and white sand. If you like subtle scents that smell fresh, this is it. I like to use my Seascape products at night for a relaxing end to my day.
This natural deodorant uses salicylic acid to neutralize odor-causing bacteria. It also promises to smooth and brighten the underarms, an area prone to hyperpigmentation.
This body lotion contains sea salt, minerals, and sodium hyaluronate, a compound similar to hyaluronic acid. Together, these ingredients lock hydration and nutrients into the skin.
3. Lush Greens
Even though I was initially obsessed with Exotic Pulp (and I still use it every morning), I think this one is my favorite scent. Notes of dewy leaves, cactus flowers, and juicy pear make me feel like I'm showering at a fancy wellness retreat in Bali rather than in my tiny apartment bathroom after a long work day.
The star ingredients in this iteration of the body wash are sea fennel, willowherb, bamboo, niacinamide, and zinc PCA. These ingredients visibly improve tone and texture while soothing stressed skin.
This body lotion is TSA-approved, so you don't have to worry about your favorite products being confiscated before you arrive at your destination.
4. Lagoona
To me, this scent is more androgynous than the others. Notes of bergamot, grapefruit, and ozonic musk, make it smell somewhat sharp and aquatic. It's like a grown-up version of an old Hollister perfume I used to own, and I mean that in the best way possible.
Did I mention these deodorants are refillable? Keep the outer pod and cap and repurchase the inner component that contains the deodorant.
This body wash contains marine-derived polysaccharides, coconut water, kukui oil, and magnesium PCA to hydrate and nourish the skin.
5. Island Orchid
If you enjoy a sweet floral fragrance like Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum ($96), you'll love Island Orchid. With notes of jasmine, frangipani, driftwood, and musk, it has a warm, summery quality to it. As the brand puts it, it smells "like being enveloped in a field of exotic flowers." Who wouldn't want to smell like that?
You'll want to bring this on vacation with you. It contains actual orchid extract to make your skin feel petal-soft.
Of course, you can always stick to the full-size version, which just so happens to be sitting in my shower as we speak.
6. Pink Beach
With notes of creamy coconut, warm vanilla, and almond blossom, Pink Beach is your classic gourmand (AKA sugary sweet) fragrance. This is the one for you if you're a die-hard fan of, let's say, Prada's Candy Eau de Parfum ($115).
If you can't get enough of the Pink Beach scent, you're in luck. The brand offers a fragranced body mist.
This body oil is wildly popular. It uses a blend of oils, including fermented Saururus, kukui, cacay, moringa, and squalane, to moisturize the skin without leaving a greasy residue.
7. Santal Bloom
If you're a fan of Santal fragrances, like the iconic Le Labo Santal 33 ($220), you'll love this scent. Like other Santal fragrances, it's warm, woody, and inviting. The brand describes it as "warm and golden, like sunkissed skin," and I agree. I even say the body wash is a good dupe for the Le Labo one.
If I could only choose one scent to get in a body mist, this would be it. It's a classic fragrance and pretty universally loved if other best-selling scents are any indication.
Aside from the inviting scent, this body lotion is worth the money for the active ingredients it contains, including coconut oil, cupuaçu butter, and kukui oil for intense moisture.
