14 Rose-Infused Beauty Products That Not Only Smell Amazing But Also Reduce Acne
Personally, I can never have enough rose-infused products in my skincare routine. Whether that's a toner, mask, or even body lotion, this is one powerhouse ingredient you absolutely shouldn't sleep on. Don't believe me? Just ask board-certified dermatologist, Snehal Amin, MD—he wholeheartedly agrees.
"Rosewater and oil are naturally hydrating," he says. "When combined with skin barrier protectors such as ceramides, it makes a great moisturizer. Rose also has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and astringent properties which are beneficial for acne and redness-prone skin."
I know—so it's basically your dream skincare ingredient, right? It doesn't stop there, either. "Rich in antioxidants, vitamin A, and vitamin C, it is [also] great for aging skin," Amin adds. And this wouldn't be a love letter to rose-infused products without mentioning how divine they smell, either. The floral, inviting aroma also has gently calming and restorative properties, according to Amin. So to sum up, adding rose into your skincare routine can provide wonderful youth-enhancing benefits, extra hydration, antioxidants, and soothing to sensitive skin and redness. As I said, it's an ingredient you won't want to leave out, I promise. For a few rose-infused editor favorites and Amin's picks, keep scrolling below.
Our very own Beauty Director, Caitie Schlisserman, loves this rosewater and pink peppercorn–infused hand cream because it delivers instant hydration. With the addition of shea butter, macadamia seed oil, hyaluronic acid, myrrh, glycerine, and ceramides, you have the perfect, long-lasting formula you only need to apply once.
Yep, your lips could most definitely use some rose love, too. This hydrating skin salve is packed with natural emollients, antioxidants, and rose to soothe dry, chapped lips.
This is one of my all-time favorite rose-infused toners. I love that it has actually rose petals floating around in the solution to really give it an extra dose of the soothing ingredient. The addition of hyaluronic acid doesn't hurt, either.
This new offering from Pat McGrath is a dream for the skin. It contains BiPhase Technology which addresses dullness and dehydration. The rose-biotic complex calms, rebalances, and fortifies the skin barrier using HydraSphere 18, a potent combination of botanically derived oils that nourish and replenish moisture.
Another favorite of Schlisserman's is this luxurious oil from Chantecaille. It boosts your complexion with powerful botanicals like rose damascena, evening primrose, and rosehip that reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Chilean tree bark in the formula also helps create a brighter, more even-textured complexion.
This cult-favorite rosewater facial mist from Heritage Store soothes and refreshes your skin. Vegetable glycerin and Damask rose oil soften the skin and it can even be used as a makeup setting spray.
Elemis offers a silky, rose-infused cleansing balm that can be used as a great first step in a double cleansing routine or as a makeup remover. It transforms into three unique textures when you use it including a balm, cleansing oil, and cleansing milk to nourish and penetrate more deeply into the skin. Extra hydrating ingredients include English rose olea extract, elderberry oil, brown algae, and rose-hip seed oil
Fellow associate beauty editor Katie Berohn loves this youth-promoting mask from Sisley Paris. It has a creamy texture and brings energy into the skin with ingredients like black rose, vitamin E, chlorella, geranium essential oil, rose, magnolia, and shea butter.
Tula's best-selling eye balm now features a little something extra—a little dose of rose. It provides fast moisture, cools, and reduces the look of fine lines around the eye area. Probiotic extracts, rosewater, and rosehip oil in the formula helps keep hydration locked in for longer periods of time.
You can count on 111Skin products to deliver a spa-like experience—and this Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask does just that. It combines hydrogel technology with ingredients like 24k gold and Damask rose to illuminate the skin and calm any redness.
For a youthful and revitalized complexion, try Dr Sebagh's rose-infused, hydrating mask. It replenishes the epidermal layer while purifying and plumping the skin.
Another cult-favorite product, this toner is infused with rose petals, aloe vera, and witch hazel to soothe and keep skin extra hydrated throughout the day.
Amin recommends this hydrating mask from Fresh because it contains Damask rose extract, a hyaluronic acid duo, and time-release technology that helps deliver continuous hydration on the skin's surface throughout the day.
Lancôme's luxe serum contains ingredients that help accelerate skin surface cell renewal. Infused with grand rose extract, vitamin E, and gentle exfoliating acid complex, it revitalizes the skin, leaving it firmer and deeply hydrated with an improvement in overall tone.
