Expect to See These Jewelry Trends on Red Carpets in 2019
Red carpet season doesn’t technically start for another few months, but for the celebrity stylists behind all the epic celebrity red carpet looks, the work starts now to curate their buzzworthy ensembles. January—and the back-to-back lineup of award shows that come with it—is right around the corner, but instead of waiting patiently to see what these stylists have up their sleeves, we went straight to the source and tapped well-known Hollywood powerhouse Micaela Erlanger for the intel on what we can expect to see adorning red carpets in 2019—more specifically, which jewelry trends will emerge in the coming season.
Erlanger, whose client list is stacked with stars like Lupita Nyong'o, Blake Lively, and Meryl Streep, is an authority in accessorizing, something that her book How to Accessorize: The Perfect Finish to Any Outfit and new jewelry collab with BaubleBar points to. “As a lover of all things accessories, I wanted to design a collection that was as glamorous as it is wearable,” she declared, adding, “I think we will continue to see more statement jewelry and less fine delicate jewelry in the year ahead as far a red carpets go.”
Although red carpet trends tend to be detached from the everyday trends we usually discuss here, it’s clear to Erlanger that in the coming year the two will be as in sync as ever. If you’ve been studying our jewelry trend reports recently, you’d know that all things ’80s and maximalist jewelry are dominating. Think bright, bold gemstones, oversize statement earrings and over-the-top glam moments.
We can fully expect to see these styles and a few more fun-loving jewelry trends making their way onto the wrists, necks, and ears of our favorite stars. Scroll down to discover and shop the five jewelry trends Erlanger is betting big on.
