The Winter Staples to Invest in This Season

Sponsor Content Created With Ralph Lauren

When it comes to winter dressing, we’re all about making considered investment purchases we can rely on to carry us through the season. Summer outfits may have all the fun and frivolity, but prints and bright colours can date easily, so it’s difficult to know what will survive the season. With autumn and winter, you can always count on a palette of rich hues, creamy neutrals and interesting textures to feel not only appropriate but elevated. So you can be more confident committing to quality pieces you can pull out year after year.

You can also rely on just a few key hero pieces to carry your whole winter wardrobe—that’s where buying fewer, better pieces comes into play. We’re talking about the perfect coat, top-quality knits, essential layers and, of course, some great boots. Mix these with your everyday basics, and you’re all set to take on the cold weather as effortlessly as, say, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. (Girl knows a great coat when she sees one.)

We take our job of suggesting places to buy these pieces very seriously since you understandably want to be getting the best of the best when it comes to investing in your wardrobe. Enter Ralph Lauren. Yes, you probably know the super-brand for its celebrity friends and epic runway shows, but this is your sign not to overlook it as a destination to boost your winter capsule.

The brand’s dedicated outerwear section is quite simply something to behold, focusing mostly on classic coats and jackets that will stand the test of time. Whether you prefer a down puffer, suede jacket, tailored wool number or cosy shearling, there are tons of options ranging from more affordable outerwear to the serious "forever coat.” (We’re currently saving up for this baby.) Add to this an edit of perfect shirting layers, dreamy leather boots and beautiful knitwear, and you’ve got a one-stop shop for winter staples that never date.
