Rachel Green's Style Is Timeless and Chic—34 Fall Pieces She Would Buy Today
No matter how many TV shows I watch, there isn't a character that has had as much of a sartorial impact on me as Rachel Green. It's not just because I've watched Friends more times than I can count. Regardless of what year it is, anything she's worn will always come off as stylish to me. I spent years chasing every trend, and Rachel taught me to put more thought into what I want in my wardrobe. While she was definitely no stranger to following a trend here and there, she strongly prioritized a collection of classic pieces that I would wear today.
From obvious '90s pieces like slip dresses and miniskirts to unexpected trends like suit vests and lingerie-like tops, Rachel is proving to still be the ultimate style inspiration. She already is on my mood board for fall 2022, so I decided to do some online shopping with her in mind. Despite her looks being over 25 years old, we're still quick to re-create them, so you know the pieces below will be yours for the long haul.
I can't believe this dress isn't actually from the '90s. It sure does look like it.
When Rachel started her career in fashion, she incorporated blazers into her wardrobe. She liked them a little bit more fitted, but I just know she'd love this oversize option in 2022.
An LBD is a must, even in the fall—just pair it with stockings or sheer tights.
No Rachel Green look would be complete without the perfect shoulder bag.
Add a turtleneck and you've got yourself the exact look from above. It's really that easy.
My favorite part about Rachel's wardrobe is that she wasn't afraid to keep it casual with a relaxed and comfy look, which often involved a graphic tee or sweatshirt.
If you've been reluctant to try out the loose-trousers look, this is your chance.
Fun fact: I actually bought my first pair of overalls because of Rachel. I grew out of them, so I'll be ordering this pair immediately.
I may not work at Ralph Lauren or Bloomingdale's, but I'll be wearing this suit to work.
I've owned my solid-black slip dress for years, and I know the same will happen for this one.
Considering the fact that Rachel spent a lot of time working at Ralph Lauren, this choice was obvious. Plus, she had a strong collection of tailored button-down shirts.
This top may be simple in design, but it's chic as can be. Just imagine it with a slip skirt or miniskirt and stockings—very '90s.
I know cropped pants are being put on the back burner right now, but seeing them on Rachel makes me think otherwise.
