5 Outfits I'm Styling to Trick Myself Into Being More Productive

It's official: The days of working from home in my pajamas are behind me. What felt like a pure thrill in the early weeks of sheltering in place quickly turned into a recipe for sluggish, repetitive days with no way of distinguishing one from the next. Then, last Tuesday morning during an unexpected burst of energy, I started getting ready as though I were, in fact, going to the office. Admittedly, our Who What Wear offices have a fairly relaxed dress code that embraces stylish athleisure looks wholeheartedly, but still—I wore real clothes! And as a result, my days became so much more productive and positive.

I can now share that I've found the perfect (and realistic) outfit formula that makes for easy styling and super-cute results: Start with athletic basics (I'm currently very into PUMA's Forever Luxe collection), and simply incorporate a few on-trend fashion pieces to feel pulled-together, chic, and insanely comfortable. Plus, it means I'm always ready for anything, whether that's popping out to run an errand with my dog, meeting a friend for a socially distanced coffee, or jumping on a last-minute Zoom call without fear of turning on my video. Just like the five on-trend outfits below, the new normal is decidedly comfortable, chic, and casual-cool, and I'm here for it. Like what you see? Catch PUMA's Forever Luxe collection on Bloomingdale's site and in stores at the Beverly Center, Glendale Galleria, SoHo, Willow Grove, and Tysons Corner Center.

This year, I've seen so many bra-under-blazer looks, especially paired with a pair of faux-leather leggings. I'm not really one to wear an actual bra unless an outfit really calls for one, so I love adding in this sleek PUMA sports bra that keeps this look casual and keeps me feeling comfortable all day long. A touch of gold jewelry and a pair of white sneakers are the perfect high, low ways to finish the whole thing off.

Don't underestimate the versatility of a pair of joggers. Styling them with on-trend combat boots and a track jacket makes for a grungy 90s look that's really of the moment. I love the purple pop of color on the PUMA Forever Luxe PUMA sports bra—it blends nicely with the accents on the track jacket and contrasting white elements of the outfit.

Biker shorts are the sporty-stylish element that reigned supreme this year, and I'm not saying goodbye anytime soon. I like throwing on a chic workout top in the morning to remind myself that I will indeed exercise that day, and when the top looks as good as this one, it's easy to style around it. I love the oversize workwear jackets I'm seeing everywhere right now, and the corduroy fabric on this one is a nice added element against all the Drycell athleticwear.

We're seeing a lot of grungy/punk looks coming up in forecasts for 2021, and even though they make me miss going to shows with my friends, I'm really excited about it. These sleek leggings play into the moto feel of the platform combat boots and faux-leather puffer. Take it up a notch with a chunky silver chain necklace, and this edgy look will carry you through the day into night, no matter what you have planned.

Just because I'm getting dressed every day doesn't mean there aren't days when I'm keeping it extra comfy. I love wearing old-school crew socks with a pair of joggers. This mock-neck sweater is super breathable, but I like how it's fitted at the bottom with a drawstring. You can throw on a pair of white sneakers and run errands in this look or just hang out in living room.

Copy Editor, Branded Content

Aralyn Beaumont joined Who What Wear as the copy editor for branded content after a career in food media. Years of poring over intricate recipes with a fine-tooth comb and working with high-profile chefs has prepared her well for working with fashion's top brands while honoring Who What Wear's voice. Her background as a research editor makes her a finicky editor who will probably care too much about making sure all copy is as factually accurate and aligned with the house style guide as can be. Maybe it's because she's a Gemini, but her personal style is impossible to pin down: One day you'll see her in a turtleneck sweater tucked into a midi skirt with heeled boots, and the next, she'll be wearing mom jeans, a white Hanes tee, and classic Vans. At the end of the day, her style reflects her various moods. Sometimes it will be feminine and elegant, and others it will be grungy or androgynous. Certain things will always remain constant, though. She'll forever be on the hunt for the perfect pair of high-waisted jeans.
