In case you missed it, last week I reported on a 2019 update to Princess Diana's favorite Tod's bag, which she carried in the '90s. We Instagrammed the photo of Lady Di carrying the original bag, and it quickly garnered over 20,000 likes and over a hundred comments. Given our readers' penchant for royal style, I wasn't surprised it resonated with our audience, but a quick look through the comments section revealed that our followers were fixated on one part of Princess Diana's outfit: her rugby stripe polo sweater. I counted dozens of Instagram comments mentioning the sweater, so figured I'd throw our readers a bone and find similar versions available to purchase now. (Okay, I'm lying. I really just wanted to find one for myself.)

The photograph of Princess Diana was taken at The Harbour Club, where she often did workouts and played tennis, so her sporty rugby polo fit right in. She completed the outfit with white skinny jeans, loafers, the aforementioned Tod's bag, and a tennis racket for good measure. In case you had any doubt, Princess Diana's style is truly eternally chic. Scroll down to shop the rugby stripe trend for yourself.

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
