I'm Predicting Madewell's Next 24 Cult-Favorite Pieces
Do you ever get frustrated while scrolling endlessly through your favorite retailers searching for your next fashion purchase? Considering that this is part of my job description, allow me to do the work for you. You might remember that I've already broken down my predictions for Nordstrom's and H&M's next big things, and now, it's time to turn the spotlight on another one of our readers' favorite places to shop: Madewell.
As I mentioned in a previous story, I started wearing Madewell long before I ever became a fashion editor—back when I could still get that coveted student discount. I might have expanded my brand repertoire since then, but I still come back to Madewell for, uh, well-made pieces at reasonable prices. Below, I'm predicting the items that will be Madewell's next cult-favorite pieces—aka the items that are sure to rack up plenty of great reviews on their way to selling out.
Tops
I've always loved a frilly white blouse, which is why I named it one of the five summer trends you won't regret in 10 years.
It's all in the details. I love this side-tie detail and swingy A-line shape of this tank.
Heads up: Marigold is a color that's currently trending.
Accessories
Protect your skin and look chic while you're at it.
If you've been staying at home more than ever, might I suggest a cute pair of socks to liven up your WFH outfits?
These sweet earrings look more expensive than they really are.
Just slightly more polished than flip-flops but just as comfortable.
Delicate jewelry is great for summer because it doesn't weigh you down.
These neutral sandals will truly go with everything in your closet.
Dresses
Florals may not be groundbreaking for spring, but they are still stylish.
This easy-breezy midi dress will keep you cool all summer long.
This is the type of dress that you're guaranteed to get a lot of use out of.
I own a lot of A-line sundresses, but once in a while, I like to mix it up with formfitting ribbed dresses.
Skirts and Shorts
I love how this cheery skirt is paired with a simple black tank top.
Denim shorts are pretty much a prerequisite this time of year. Wear them with sneakers, sandals, or flip-flops.
I love how these printed shorts are paired with a tucked-in tank top.
If ultra-short shorts aren't for you, perhaps these longer versions will be perfect.

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 14 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Kate and Meghan stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible.
