When it comes to colour pairings for 2017, there is one combination that we are have spotted again and again— fuchsia clashing with scarlet red. This was certainly one of the most popular trends at London Fashion Week this month, and it could be seen on the streets as well as the runways. It just so happens to also be the number one trend Zara is backing for spring.

The key to mastering this look is to avoid prints, stick to statement colour-block pieces and embrace unexpected layering to create maximum impact. During London Fashion Week, Harper's Bazaar's Anna Vitiello nailed this red-and-pink colour blocking by layering a scarlet DKNY slip dress over a fuchsia Rejina Pyo top and a pair of jeans with rolled-up cuffs. She pulled out the red even further with a pair of red stilettos.

Camille Charrière has also been having fun with these clashing colours, wearing a Creatures of the Wind red leather dress over a sugary pink Ganni jumper during New York Fashion Week. Pandora Sykes also sported this trend during LFW, wearing a pink Alessandra Rich slip dress over deep red velvet trousers.
This colour combination isn't going anywhere anytime soon, as Preen included several pink-and-red colour-blocking looks in its A/W 17 collection as well. But you don't have to wait until September to shop the look, as Zara's new-in section is all about fuchsia and red with pastel dresses, fluro suits and bright smock tops that are all made for layering like the street style set.
