Microtrend Monday: This Is 2018's Version of the White-Shoe Craze

Here at Who What Wear UK, we always strive to tell you about the next big trends ahead of time. That's why we created Microtrend Monday, your weekly alert to let you know the items and styling tricks that are suddenly taking off.

When white shoes made a comeback last year, we were a little wary, but now the '80s pumps have become a firm staple in our wardrobes. White shoes might no longer divide opinion, but there's another '80s trend ready to spark some debate. If you look closely in the new-in sections of Topshop, Mango, Net-a-Porter and more, you'll spot plenty of pastel shoes.

Victoria Beckham is one of the key designers behind the sudden arrival of lilac, baby-blue, pistachio and baby-pink shoes—in her spring/summer 2018 collection, every model wore a pair of pastel power pumps, and you only need one quick look on Zara to see that these sugary colours are big news for this season. If you're feeling brave, might we recommend pairing your pastel shoes with a matching bag or a Ladurée-coloured suit?
