Just as you'd expect from their spotless style reputation, the Parisians were out in force and showcasing their effervescence this Paris Fashion Week. Wearing a mix of surprising new trends, faithful French classics and styles that have been gently bubbling for a few seasons but now have the approval of the French fashion crowd, France's capital was alight with inspired looks.
Read on to discover the street style trends we're taking home with us from this Paris Fashion Week.
1. BANANA-MILK YELLOW
Style Notes: Banana-milk yellow is the playful yet refined alternative to beige or grey, and it's become a quiet favourite of the fashion set, brightening up autumn wardrobes with a fresh hint of warmth and colour. Pairing well with sunset tones and neutrals alike, the buttery shade has solidified itself as the colour of the season.
Shop the Trend:
This silky dress can be styled up with heels or down with chunky boots.
This light linen dress layers well with deep navy tones.
2. KEY-HOLE CUT-OUTS
Style Notes: Whilst Londoners favoured mini skirts this fashion month, in Paris, showgoers chose another way to show off some skin. Bold cut-outs were spotted on the chests of France's fashion set, some adorned with dramatic necklaces and others left bare.
Shop the Trend:
The perfect dress to ease you into party-season shopping.
Style with baggy jeans for an edgy feel, or go sleek and wear with long black trousers.
3. LOEWE INFLATED CATEYE SUNGLASSES
Style Notes: Loewe's playful take on cat-eye shades enamoured Paris' showgoers. Spotted up and down the city's streets, the inflated sunglasses feature a glossy finish for a sleeker edge.
Shop the Trend:
4. CLASSIC FRENCH FLAIR
Style Notes: At no point during the week did we forget that we were in Paris. The city's most stylish showed us exactly how the French earned their reputation as the world's chicest population; styling effortless, playful and je ne sais quoi-cool looks all weekend.
Shop the Trend:
5. EVERY SHADE OF BROWN AND BEIGE
Style Notes: Whilst Londoners and New Yorkers are swapping out in their beige coats for all things grey, Parisians are sticking with warmer tones this season. Styling head-to-toe looks in all shades of beige and brown, the French fashion set confirmed their allegiance to warm neutrals.
Shop the Trend:
Brown jeans are a trending style this season.
Opt for a brown-toned dress this party season.
6. THE CITY OF LIGHT
Style Notes: This Fashion Week, it was easy to understand why Paris is known as The City of Lights. Whilst the night sky was lit with dazzling street lights, the pavements were ablaze with shimmering showgoers. Favouring metallic finishes and sequinned embellishments, the crowd brought glistening glamour to the city's streets.
Shop the Trend:
Style with metallic silver trousers for a head-turning look.
In my opinion, this is the perfect party top.
7. BIG BOOTS TO FILL
Style Notes: This trend might not be for everyone, but the bravest of the French style set stepped out in structural pairs of oversized black boots with dramatic square edges or big, slouchy folds.
Loewe's slouchy boots are a divisive trend we can get behind.
