There’s nothing I love more than traveling. Spending money on experiences is the ultimate reward for me. For this reason, I decided that I would get away from New York City before summer kicks off and spend a month living abroad. Paris, here I come!

How am I going to pack for an entire month with just one suitcase? This is where my capsule wardrobe will come into play.

If you’re like me and have a closet filled with piles and piles of clothes, you’ll be surprised just how far 15 pieces can take you. Everything is all about styling and these are the pieces that you can mix and match to get the ultimate wardrobe that will make you look elevated and chic every day of your travels. I did the math, and shockingly, I could come up with 45 different outfits with just these 15 things.

The best part is that you can fit it all in a carry-on, no matter how long you plan on traveling. Don’t believe me? Check out the 15 pieces below and I am certain that you will be convinced.

A cotton poplin dress is an absolute must-have in any Parisian wardrobe. Especially when you’re traveling, you’ll want a dress like this. You can throw it on without a thought while running out the door to grab a croissant.

Wide-leg pants are the definition of effortless. A lot of the styles that I’ve found are more comfortable than you’d think and they make you look extremely Parisian. When you pack for your travels, you’ll want to have a quality pair in your suitcase.

A trip always involves a formal dinner or two but when you have limited packing space, you’ll want to bring along a dress that can do it all. This floral maxi is on sale and just so happens to pair just as well with sneakers and a leather jacket or heels and a mini bag.

Anyone packing for a trip knows that the carry-it-all tote bag is a must-have. This is the item that will be with you everywhere you go from the airplane to the many adventures you take while exploring a new city. Finding a quality style doesn’t have to break the bank, and that’s why I love this pick from Mango.

Parisians love their flat shoes more than anyone. French people are extremely practical when it comes to their wardrobe. Have fun with your shoes by picking out a pair of cheeky loafers that go with everything but still feel fresh and different. Pink never fails me.

Another must-have for a Parisian wardrobe is a cardigan. You can wear this on its own, with the button-down shirt, or draped over your shoulders when you’re wearing a plain white tee. The opportunities are endless.

As I mentioned earlier, Parisians have practicality down to a T. They would skip out on stilettos and opt for a kitten heel style like these instead. I love the idea of sliding into them before a night out.

Whenever you buy into a plain white tee, always put quality above all else. Spending a bit more will often mean that you can skip out on frequently having to replace your basics. I just got a few new T-shirts from Boden and was so impressed by the quality.

Parisians stay away from trends, but there are just a few that get to them. One of those is the maxi denim skirt. This is a hot trend that is absolutely taking the world by storm and is definitely going to make it into my suitcase.

I can never talk about French-girl style without mentioning the classic white button-down. The French fashion set whom I stalk endlessly on Instagram has made me fall in love with this staple over and over again. There are a million ways to wear it, and luckily, it goes with everything.

A trench coat might just be the most Parisian thing you can buy into. It’s my go-to in the spring and fall, but I wanted one that feels different, so I’ll be packing this leather style. J’adore.

There’s nothing I love more in this world than a good pair of wide-leg jeans. I mean, what do they not pair well with? Whenever I don’t put much thought into an outfit, wide-leg jeans are somehow involved. Pack them if you want an effortless style.

French women love quiet luxury, and Savette is exactly that. A minimalist design that exudes luxury without saying it outright by boasting a label is key. This shoulder bag will carry everything you need for a day in the city or a night on the town.

Nailing down Parisian style before my trip of course requires a structured and oversize blazer. This black one is exactly what I need to complete any look. Zara is an editor-favorite destination for a good blazer.

While Europeans are known for shunning Americans for their sneakers, they are predominately speaking of the concept of wearing running shoes for more than a workout. An elevated pair of white sneakers will certainly be allowed if you are planning to explore a new city and stop at a casual cafe along the way.
