9 Chic Items You Have to Own If You Always Wear Black Jeans

As I’ve highlighted before, I basically live in black jeans. No, seriously—I legit don’t own a pair of classic blue denim. While I have a few go-to uniforms I pair with my trusty jeans, I’m also consistently on the hunt for cool items to wear with them. You too? Well, you’re in luck. After scrolling through a range of imagery featuring fashion girls who also often wear black jeans on the regular, it became quickly apparent that there are actually a few specific items worth owning right now to ensure those denim ’fits are as chic as possible. With that in mind, keep scrolling to check out the nine of-the-moment essentials that pair flawlessly with dark denim—skinny, straight, and wide-leg silhouettes included. Plus, shop each item, along with some of the sleekest black jeans of the moment.
If you work in a more casual office setting and want to elevate your favorite cropped black jeans, add a forward reworked shirt into your rotation for an especially of-the-moment silhouette.
These may seem like a no-brainer, but you can’t deny the classic power of the perfect pair of black booties for a streamlined fit with black jeans.
While just about any outerwear style works with black jeans (they’re just that versatile), I’m particularly feeling the range of duster coats for a chic look.
One of my daily uniforms consists of a turtleneck, a moto jacket, and black jeans—the ensemble is simple yet impactful. While black turtlenecks work great, I’m actually into the lighter styles to pop against the dark denim.
Bring that extra level of sophistication to a casual denim fit by incorporating an on-trend blazer. Try this specific look for casual Friday or drinks out with friends.
On the hunt for an elegant yet laid-back night-out ensemble? Pair black skinny jeans with a printed blouse or a statement sweater to stand out.
On the other end of the spectrum from black booties are patterned ankle boots. The contrast against dark jeans is eye-catching in the best way possible.
There’s just nothing cooler than stepping out in a leather jacket with your black jeans to give off that desirable "downtown” vibe.
When in doubt, just wear those black jeans with a classic outfit formula that always works—denim, a T-shirt, and classic kicks like Converse or Vans.
