The Outfit Combo I Swear By for All-Day Errands in NYC

When she’s not working with big names like Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Hudson, and Hilary Swank or acting in her capacity as the official Armi Captain at luxury rental and styling platform Armarium, celebrity stylist Micaela Erlanger divulges her fashion expertise in our Ask a Stylist column. From the best places to source vintage to the secret to finding your most flattering jeans, come back each week for a professional’s perspective.
As for most adults, my weekends are typically packed with all the errands I didn’t quite get to during the week, like picking up my dry cleaning and taking pieces to the tailor—the list goes on. When it comes to dressing for these #adulting days, I have a signature outfit combination I swear by. Since I don’t want to look like a slob, I go for a practical yet polished uniform so that I can stylishly accomplish my tasks. I’ve found that I can’t go wrong with solid jeans (if you read my weekly column, then you know I swear by these ones from Madewell), a simple T-shirt layered under a slightly oversize blazer, polished accessories, and, of course, comfortable ballet flats. Functional and foolproof, it lends just enough personal style to my practical look. Shop the key pieces you need to add my reliable NYC outfit combination to your rotation below.
