2024 Is All About These 4 Boot Trends and a Little Less About These 4

As style people (hey there), we've experimented with a slew of winter shoe trends over the years to find those ideal silhouettes that are equal parts fashion and function. Sure, we have many of these perfectly acceptable styles at the ready in our closets, but the change in seasons comes hand in hand with our desire for a wardrobe refresh—starting with a winter-boot upgrade.

With that in mind, we thought we'd share the winter boot trends we're considering storing away due to their somewhat outdated nature. Alternatively, we're also sharing the styles we're excited to test out this season instead if that's of interest. Of course, it's always smart to remember that you should wear whatever you love, despite someone else's preference.

A Little Less About: Knee-High Lug-Sole Boots

All About: Sleek Riding Boots

Tall lug-sole boots may be practical for the winter, but they've proven to be difficult to style. Sleek riding boots, on the other hand, are extremely versatile and will have longevity in your closet.

A Little Less About: Stiletto Boots

All About: Kitten-Heel Boots

Stiletto boots certainly add a level of extra height, but we're prioritizing kitten-heel styles this season. Kitten heels feel so sophisticated, and we no longer feel the need to look extremely tall. With the right styling, you can still easily wear pieces that add length without the tall heels.

A Little Less About: Sock Boots

All About: Suede Boots

Skintight sock boots had their moment, but fitted suede boots feel a whole lot more luxe. They are trending now, but we can promise that suede boots come back into popularity every fall.

A Little Less About: Standard Ankle Boots

All About: Animal-Print Boots

Standard ankle boots can feel a little tired and boring—animal-printed boots are so much more fun. Even with a simple outfit, they'll take the entire look up a notch.
