The $65 Barn Jacket Every Upper East Side Mom Bought This Week

As much as I like to think I'm pretty in the know when it comes to fashion, I've learned I should never underestimate what I can glean from fellow moms at morning drop-off. I was reminded of that lesson this week when I noticed a friend wearing what appeared to be a very expensive-looking and—it goes without saying buton-trend barn jacket. Upon hearing some chatter about the piece, I inched closer, and that was when I heard where it was from: Old Navy! Unbeknownst to me, half the women around me either owned, had ordered, or were actively in the process of purchasing the piece on their phones.

Thankfully, it's not too late to jump on board, because the $65 topper is still in stock along with several others from the site that are equally chic. To see and shop the piece along with more of my affordable outerwear picks for fall and winter, just keep scrolling, and consider this a lesson on the power of occasional eavesdropping!

Editor-at-Large

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
