I'm From NYC, and These Are the Items I Want to Buy From H&M, Topshop, and ASOS
I may be a month or two late to the party, but I'm finally getting around to spring-cleaning my wardrobe. (In my defense, New York's winter hung around for far too long this year. I don't think I've ever felt more hostility toward a puffer coat in my life.) Luckily, summer's official start date is right around the corner marking the arrival of a whole new shopping season.
From strappy sandals to linen co-ords and billowy dresses, buying into this spring and summer's best trends is at the top of my list. With a wish list this ambitious, where better to hit up than my favorite trend-driven shops? H&M, Topshop, and ASOS are all fail-safes for finding Instagram-friendly digs without worrying about going too broke. Seriously, my head-to-toe look above, pistachio knit sweater included, is all courtesy of H&M.
Since you likely currently have bigger fish to fry, I'm cutting down your own pre-season shopping time in half by sharing a list of all my favorite finds thus far. The idea of summer has never looked so good.
H&M
A polished beaded handbag that fits in with your wedding guest look just as well as it does paired with a midi dress and some sneakers.
My summer 2019 resolution is to stop thinking about my tan lines and start embracing the myriad of cool swimsuit trends.
I'm already dreaming up all the outfits I can center around this silky lemon blouse.
I'm all about this year's growing sporty sandal trend.
Some people's summer basics include camisoles and crop tops. For me, it's all about having an arsenal of loose-fitting knit tanks.
I see London, I see France, I think I've just found my perfect pair of wide-legged pants.
Bandwaggoning onto this year's pale yellow trend, ASAP.
This jumpsuit is made with a linen-blend to help defy those hot and humid NYC summer afternoons.
Topshop
A leopard bucket hat: the lovechild of all of this past year's best trends.
Sayonara, round frames. I can already tell this square-shaped pair will be my go-to shades for the season.
There's no turning back from the tie-dye frenzy now.
If you're not quite committed to the wide-leg trend yet like a loose fit, then this cuffed jean is just for you.
Trade in your pool slides or flip-flops for a more dynamic pair of chic, slip-on sandals.
This summer, I'm trading in all of my denim cut-offs for this simple white miniskirt.
This versatile halter top can be styled with jeans for a casual day look or a bias slip dress for a fun night out.
I love a good statement earring, and this drop pair is as statement as they come.
Are you suffering from fatigue over your go-to tee and jeans? Give your denim a break by pairing your favorite tees and tanks with a slinky midi skirt instead.
ASOS
Who doesn't love a good barrette?
The first thing I'll be adding to my suitcase for every weekend getaway this summer.
Do yourself a favor and buy the whole set. The dark denim-on-denim combo is just too good.
My closet has seen rope belts, shoe lace belts, rhinestone belts, and chain belts, but it's super excited to welcome in a seashell belt.
I haven't taken these puppies off in over a week. They look that good.
The only thing more impressive than how good this dress looks is how affordable it is.
As a sunglass hoarder, I'm always open to testing out new playful styles.
I've been trying to introduce more oversize yet structured pieces into my wardrobe. This boxy shirt is just the ticket.
I love the sculptural heel trend almost as much as I love a lime green moment.
I didn't know I had a dream swimsuit until just this moment.
Take a cue from this ASOS model and pair this lightweight suit with socks and sneakers.

She's spent the last decade living in New York, but now that she professionally works from home, she's slowly been going back to her roots by splitting time between NYC and L.A. A year ago, she left a four-year stint as a fashion editor for Refinery29 to explore the freelance life. Nowadays, she does just about everything from penning online articles (for Who What Wear, Refinery29, Elle, Cosmo, and many more) to writing scripts, styling, and finding ways to fuse her love for both Disney and fashion. Her main beat is fashion (trends, emerging brands, affordable finds, you name it), but you may find her dropping in with a beauty story every now and then. As for her personal style, she'd best describe it as a balanced blend of basics and contemporary trends, often with a dash of Mickey Mouse thrown in for good measure. In her spare time, she can be found coddling my pets (a French bulldog and a rescue cat), curating travel itineraries for her friends, scrolling through Instagram for up-and-coming brands, and watching so-bad-they're-good films.
