I'm an NYC Fashion Editor--Here's Everything I Recently Added to My Closet

My wardrobe and I have an interesting relationship. It ebbs and flows, you might say. Some months I love what I've edited for myself and can effortlessly pluck an outfit off of the hangers with ease, while in other months I feel that all-too-familiar sense that there is nothing for me to wear (even though there is obviously plenty for me to wear). It's an ever-evolving creative process that I, as a fashion writer and editor, admittedly really care about. If you're reading this, you likely share the same belief that what you put on your body is an expression of your creativity, so for me, the idea of adding and subtracting things in my closet for the greater purpose of feeling confident and expressive is something I get joy out of.
This season I've found myself gravitating toward jewelry and accessories, which is always an inspiring endeavor due to the fact that shoemakers and jewelers always have such interesting stories about the way their products are crafted. I've also stocked up on some winter essentials like knits and outerwear and even slipped in a few festive fête-ready pieces, like a velvet hair bow. To help inspire your own December stylings, I assembled a list of what I recently added to my wardrobe so you can shop the pieces you love and maybe even discover a new brand or two!
Fancy pajamas: the perfect excuse to stay in on New Year's Eve.
I'll style these with a sheer black sock for holiday parties this season.
SVNR is my new favorite jewelry brand. The designer uses recycled materials to create amazing earrings that are sold as singles.
My hair needs to be tamed when it's cold and windy outside—this barrette is the perfect solution.
I know I'll be itching to fly somewhere warm come early January, so this dress is an investment in my future.
My favorite graphic-tee brand, Monogram, just released this charming T-shirt.
These handmade earrings just arrived at The Make, and I'm obsessed with every colorway.
Everything from the hardware to the silhouette to the wash makes these jeans a flattering pick.
You honestly can't go wrong with a check blazer; it's the perfect way to give your look a quick lift.
I oddly enough didn't own a simple pair of gold hoops, so these are now on my lobes.
Trademark's bag and shoe game is consistently on point. This is good for the brand but bad for my banking account.
This icy shade of mint green works for both winter and spring, making it an especially worthy investment.
Up next: six winter dressing mistakes I can confirm are awful.

She's very passionate about the ways we can improve our sustainability efforts in the fashion industry as well as cultivating content that's diverse and inclusive of all people. When she's not checking out the latest restaurant opening in her West Village neighborhood or riding her bicycle along the West Side Highway, she can be found scheming her next trip somewhere around the world. (Up next is Vienna.)
