Well, we thought we'd share even more with guidance from a true Nordstrom expert. That's right. VIP stylist Sandy Koszarek offered up the exact categories and items she thinks are worth buying from the sale.
Given that she works as a stylist at the mega-retailer, she is well versed in what's best from a style standpoint and from the pricing and stock perspective. So basically, if you're interested in something from her list below, you might want to consider going for it because there's a chance it could sell out.

"It will be boot season in a few months, so think ahead and get your new fall boots now while they are on sale. There are many hot pointy-toe booties, lug-sole Chelsea boots, and everything in between."
Denim
"The Anniversary Sale is the perfect time to refresh your denim. With many styles available, you can stock up on straight-leg, bootcut, and flared denim."
Jackets/Coats
"Nordstrom has many beautiful coats on the Anniversary Sale at excellent prices. I recommend investing in classic wool coats, puffer jackets, and moto jackets."
Dresses
"It's always dress season, so I recommend shopping for dresses during the sale. Look for the summer 'buy now, wear now' items in addition to dresses for work and beautiful styles for special occasions."
Blazers
"Blazers are a customer favorite to wear to work and with your favorite jeans on the weekend. There are so many blazers on sale. You will find them in every department at affordable prices. Look for matching slacks, too, as pantsuits are trending."
