Here's the Tea—NY Fashion Girls Are Wearing These 5 Outfit Formulas On Repeat
I might be biased, but New Yorkers have the best style. Walking out my own front door, there is never a shortage of daily inspiration to soak up on the street, the subway, or even my local coffee shop line. As the temperatures start to drop, I have been needing my own dose of motivation to get dressed and get out there. That’s why I am looking to some New York-based women for some chic outfit ideas that are weather-appropriate, yet also totally easy to pull off. It may be all about the attitude of a New Yorker, but these outfit formulas will truly make you feel like one—no matter where you are based.
I find that the best outfit combos are sometimes the simplest. As New Yorkers, we are constantly on-the-go and that doesn't leave a lot of extra time for fiddling around with options. Layering is always a key component to our looks—on any given day, the weather can shift from sun and mild temperatures to snow and subzero in a matter of hours. With this in mind, I am gravitating towards looks filled with wearable basics—cozy knitwear, plenty of denim, and lightweight outerwear that can be worn as is, or under heavier coats as the temperatures dip. You too are sure to be influenced by these 5 easy outfit formulas from some truly stylish, New York fashion girls.
Leather Jacket + Mini Skirt
It doesn't get cooler than worn-in leather and a structured mini. Just add tights when the weather takes a dip.
White T-Shirt + Midi Skirt
Start with the basics. A white t-shirt over a black midi skirt is a winning combo to keep adding to (think—top with oversized jackets, knitwear, and more).
Show off a little leg (or a cute, knee-high boot) with this side slit.
Cable-Knit Cardi + High-Waisted Jeans
A look that was made for walks in the park, coffe shop hangs, and cozy brunches.
Is there anything more irresistible than cashmere?
Blazer + Wide-Leg Jeans
This one screams uptown polish, without being too fussy. Wear to a museum, lunch with friends, or even a day of shopping.
Bomber Jacket + Square Neck Dress
A grungier bomber jacket breaks up the floaty layers of maxi dress. We'd wear with loafers or chunky, lug sole boots and hosiery.
For those unseasonal days over 50 degrees, when all you need is a light jacket.
