6 Winter Outfits for When You Don't Want to Wear A Jumper

We've professed our love of winter dressing on several occasions over the course of the last few weeks, but even we know that it's all too easy to get stuck in a style rut at this time of year. As the days get darker and the temperatures continue to drop, you're not the only one feeling somewhat uninspired where getting dressed is concerned. In fact, we already find ourselves defaulting to jumpers and jeans and ankle boots on a near-daily basis.

Now, don't get us wrong – we love jumpers and jeans and ankle boots – but, in an attempt to keep our fashion spark alive, we've found six outfits that don't involve heavy-duty knitwear whatsoever. From natty layering ideas to the cosiest fabrics you can wear, keep scrolling to see six new winter outfit ideas, courtesy of our fashion friends.

DOUBLE DENIM + CHUNKY BROGUES

Net-a-Porter is already backing the Canadian tuxedo, otherwise known as double denim, as a major trend for SS20 but, thanks to the thickness of the material, it also makes for a toasty combination for winter, too. Just add thick-sole brogues and a polo top.

PRINTED MIDI + SLOUCH BOOTS

Nothing looks sleeker in winter than a dark floral print midi dress paired with slouchy boots in either burgundy, deep tan or classic black. Just don't forget to wear your thermals underneath.

LEATHER JACKET + HIGH-NECK BLOUSE + CORDS

Much like denim, corduroy makes for an ideal winter fabric as its thickness will help keep the heat in. For even more insulation, pair cord strides with a high-neck blouse and a belted leather jacket.

WOOL BLAZER + JUMPSUIT + KNEE-HIGH BOOTS

We've all tried tucking our jeans into our knee-high boots, but never before has it occurred to us to tuck in a jumpsuit. If that wasn't toasty enough, top it all off with a wool blazer—Weekday's belted iteration being the ideal option.

SHACKET + PLEATED SKIRT

Instead of the billowing variety, look for pleated skirts with structure, as they'll provide you with a stronger shield against the cool winter weather. Top it off with a wool-blend shacket you'll essentially tick off all of 2019's top trends in one look.

Give your sleeveless dresses a longer lifespan by wearing a printed long-sleeve top underneath to keep the heat in. Then, for a cool (not to mention warm) spin, complete your look with a pair of lace-up stomping boots.
