I'm a NYC-Based Fashion Editor—I'm Trying These 6 Workwear Outfits for Spring
With office life back in play for most (myself included), I’m reminded of the challenge of dressing for work in warmer temperatures. The balance of looking professional, feeling comfortable, and being trend-forward can be tough to strike. With so many modern updates to suiting trends, the options are vaster than ever for warm-weather workwear.
For inspiration, I’ve gathered outfits I’m loving from some of the internet’s chicest people. Key pieces include suiting vests, longline shorts, circle skirts, and bright trousers. These can be paired with some of your beloved work staples and elevated with chic accessories.
I’ve shopped out each trend below so you can add these trends to your rotation, snag a new work basic, or pick up a sophisticated belt, bag, or pair of shoes.
Longline Shorts
Baggy suit shorts are at the top of my work wish list. With an oversize white button-down, kitten heel mules, and an oversize tote, this ensemble is as refined as it is functional.
Vests
A vest not only makes for the quintessential transitional piece, but it also integrates seamlessly into warm workwear. With your go-to trousers and chic black leather accessories, you have an instantly polished look.
Ball Skirts
The ball-skirt trend is currently everywhere, and it makes for the perfect spring and summer work skirt. Top your look off with a neutral cardigan, sensible ballet flats, and a practical tote bag.
Shorts Suits
A tan shorts suit is a very dependable warm-weather work option. Casually style with a neutral pair of sneakers and a sculptural gold hoop earring.
Bright Trousers
Instantly refresh your tailored trousers with a vibrant springy hue. Color block the whole look with bright greens, yellows, and pinks.
Skirt Suits
The circle midi skirt is also seen in a skirt suit, like that of the classic Dior Bar Suit. Opt for a cropped blazer, trending sculptural wedges, and an accent bag.
