If living through a pandemic that’s kept me home for long periods of time over the last two years has taught me anything, it’s that I have a whole new appreciation for basics. It’s not that I don’t love to throw together an exciting, over-the-top ensemble from time to time, but I’ve found myself reaching for easy, elevated, go-with-everything pieces much more often than I used to. In a world where most meetings and interactions are still happening over Zoom, I like having the ability to quickly look put-together without having to try too hard.
Of course, the term "basics” in the year 2022 encapsulates way more than just plain white tees and black blazers. Trendy details like cutouts and ruching and more compelling fits and materials keep things interesting while still falling into the "great for every day” category.
