Naomi Watts's Skin Hasn't Aged—Here Are the 3 Nontoxic Products She Swears By
Naomi Watts has perfect skin. In fact, the 50-year-old Australian actress is roughly twice the average Who What Wear editor's age, and we're fairly positive she rocks a far dewier, clearer, and healthier complexion than we do. So obviously, we made it our mission to find out all of her best beauty and skincare secrets (instead of seething with envy). Of course, as an A-list celebrity, Watts has access to all kinds of fancy-schmancy facials, treatments, and experts we mere mortals aren't necessarily privileged to. But when it comes to her actual skincare routine and go-to product line-up, the actress's strategy is refreshingly streamlined, and she relies on a minimal number of formulas that are both high-quality and nontoxic.
As the co-founder of Onda, a chic destination for all things clean and nontoxic, Watts has access to all the best natural makeup and skincare products in the wellness and beauty spaces. So what the actress actually chooses to put on her face each day and night is telling and further enhances her healthy lifestyle, which includes kale-walnut-yogurt-pineapple smoothies, yoga, and the occasional treatments and facials from industry experts like celebrity dermatologist David Colbert and esthetician Joanna Vargas.
A five-product (or under!) evening skincare routine is music to our ears because A) we're a little lazy come 10 p.m., and B) our funds, sadly, have limited bandwidth. The good news? Watts shared her nighttime skin ritual on Onda's Instagram earlier this year, which consists of three key products to her skin perfectly hydrated and glowing.
Keep scrolling to learn which nontoxic skincare products she currently swears by in addition to a host of other clean beauty products she loves. (We scoured the web for additional info!)
1. Her Holy-Grail Retinol
When it comes to anti-aging, a high-quality retinol formula is the ultimate secret weapon to help combat those inevitable fine lines, wrinkles, and unwanted pigmentation. Marie Veronique is a big favorite within the industry, and this particular nighttime serum boasts all the benefits of retinol in addition to potent vitamins A, C, and E. It's also a great option if you're dealing with acne-prone skin and is gentle enough to be used nightly. Therefore, it comes as no surprise Watts cites it as the first must-have within her nightly skincare routine. (Though we hypothesize she cleanses beforehand!)
2. The Inflammation-Busting Serum
When it comes to keeping her skin on good behavior despite fluctuating climate changes and temperatures, Watts shares in the same post that she likes to follow her retinol serum directly with an inflammation-targeting serum. Her potion of choice? Saint Jane's new and already-best-selling CBD-infused facial serum.
In addition to 500 milligrams of full-spectrum whole-plant CBD, the serum houses 20 additional ingredients that are all 100% pure, clean, and organic. (Think active botanicals like rose hip, sea buckthorn, and helichrysum flower; cold-pressed oils like grape-seed, avocado, and geranium; in addition to plenty of other skin-loving fares like pomegranate, calendula, rosemary, and evening primrose—to name just a few.)
3. The Deep Hydration Cream
"I like to mix the Saint Jane in with my Joanna Vargas Daily Hydrating Cream for deep hydration in the evening," Watts elaborates in the post.
Specifically designed to fight noticeable signs of aging, the esthetician-formulated cream features omega fatty acid–rich shea and cocoa butters to promote glow and elasticity in addition to oat proteins, jojoba, aloe vera, Coenzyme Q10, and vitamins.
There you have it: the three-step nightly skincare routine Watts swears by. Keep scrolling for 11 more clean skincare products the Australian actress recommends—straight from Onda's Instagram.
More of Watts's Faves
Shampoo and Conditioner
"I'm Loving Grown Alchemist's Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner. Not only do they smell amazing, but they are also great to use after a swim to avoid the feeling of dried out hair. So perfect for summertime!"
Tinted Moisturizer
"If you want a nice even glowing tone with just enough coverage but that still lets the skin breathe, the Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer is my absolute favorite. Let's also not forget the SPF, which is a necessary bonus! The lip and cheek colors are beautiful and have such a lovely smooth texture as well. I love this makeup!"
Sunscreen
"I can't wait for summer weather, and hopefully Memorial Day Weekend brings some sunny days! If you're headed away for the long weekend make sure you pack sunscreen! I love Suntegrity sunscreen. I get the sun protection I need without the harsh chemicals."
Body Wash and Lotion
"You know when you go to a dinner party and your host already has a substantial wine collection? Well, I love giving a gift that lasts long after the moment. The scent of this Australian duo from Saya made with pure plant botanicals is one of my favorites and looks beautiful by the sink as well. I know, because this is my set and my sink."
Deodorant
"Anyone feeling the humidity? I'm a hot mess! Thank goodness for Salt + Stone's Lavender and Sage Deodorant!"
Cleanser
"I start my day with a good but gentle cleanse using African Botanics Baobab Clay Oxygenating Cleanser in the shower. So soothing."
Toner
"As a toner to wake up my skin, I love to use The Beauty Chef’s Probiotic Skin Refiner."
A.M. Cream and Serum
"After toning in the morning, I mix Barbara Sturm’s Face Cream Rich with the lovely Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum. I find the products penetrate better when I blend the two together, leaving my skin feeling fully hydrated."
Lip Balm
"Naomi and I are traveling at the moment and neither of us ever leave home without our Olio e Osso lip balm," shares Onda co-founder Sarah Bryden-Brown on the brand's Instagram. "Not only is it a lip and cheek duo, but it’s also good for flyaway hair and dry cuticles. As you can see mine is nearly finished, and there’s an undeniable satisfaction to actually finishing a lip balm."

For special occasions or days when she's taking more meetings or has an event, she'll wear anything and everything from Charlotte Tilbury (the foundations are game-changing), some shimmer on her lids (Stila and Róen do it best), and a few coats of the best mascara-type product on earth, Surratt's Noir Lash Tint.
