The perils of working in fashion mean that come wedding season, I often get asked the same questions from wedding guests: Do I have to wear florals? (No.) Is it okay to wear black? (Yes.) And is it ever acceptable to wear white? (Only if that's the dress code, otherwise absolutely not.) But there was one unasked question I wanted to address: Is it ever all right to wear a "naked" dress to a wedding as a guest? The reason I felt we needed to discuss it is because of the abundance of barely there and nude-coloured dresses on and off the red carpet. While I don't exactly dress according to the A-list, the influence of the "naked" dress can't be denied.
I decided to put the question to my Facebook friends to see what they thought about the matter. There were, as you can imagine, a range of different views, which made me realise what a divisive issue this can be. People should dress in a way that makes them feel most comfortable, and I don't think anyone has a right to judge or dictate what another person wears.

Personally, if you're happy with people wearing whatever they want to your wedding, and there isn't a strict dress code, then by all means, wear a "naked" dress.
