Rihanna's First VMAs Performance Proves Pink Doesn't Have to Be Girly
Leave it to Rihanna to set a major trend mid-performance. The singer is set to receive the highly coveted Video Vanguard award and, as such, has a whopping three performances for the night—meaning we get three times the famous Rihanna style. Thanks to a cue from Vogue, we're making sure to stop to admire the fashion from her first stellar performance.
The custom Hood by Air look was created by Rihanna and the HBA Atelier team and featured the singer and all her dancers clad in head to toe baby pink. However, from her thigh-high chaps to leather and lace-up everything, this look was anything but girly. It's just further proof that pink is finally taking off as a cool-girl color. We're totally here for it and can't wait to see the killer style Rihanna brings out the rest of tonight.
Scroll on to see the looks from the performance!
