I Can't Stop Wearing These $69 Treggings That "Flatter Every Body Type"
Welcome to the latest edition of the series in which we’ll cover a variety of basics that we turn to time and time again. We hope that The Basics will help you to build your closet with pieces that you too will wear on repeat without doing harm to your bank account. We already covered the $30 pants that I consider life-changing, the $100 cashmere sweater that makes my wardrobe look expensive, the free leggings everyone was talking about, the perfect T-shirt I wear over and over, and the world’s most slimming skinny jeans. Next up, I’m sharing my experience with the flattering new treggings that I’m not sure how I lived without.
First things first, if you’re unfamiliar with the term treggings, they’re the trouser-legging hybrid that we first spotted at H&M last year, only to quickly discover it’s a thing and that multiple brands are stocking their own versions of the polished pants. They’re so polished, in fact, that you can even wear them to work with the right styling.
I’ve been quite smitten with American Giant’s leggings since their debut and am hardly surprised that both the original full-length style and the cropped style keep selling out. They’re truly made to flatter every body type, which I can confirm from personal experience—but it’s the brand’s latest pants that I’ve been wearing the most. They feature a cool, flattering cropped slit-flare hem that I find makes them feel like more of treggings than leggings, and they might be the most flattering (and comfortable) pair of black pants in my closet.
With that, keep scrolling to find out what features make these $69 treggings so special and shop outfits that include them!
