6 Mistakes Even the Most Stylish Women Make
We all make mistakes—that much we know. And when it comes to fashion, all it takes is one look at an old photo to remind us of that fact. Because while trendsetting women give off the appearance of always getting it right, there are certain mistakes every woman (street style star or not) can cop to. The good news is that acknowledging them is the first step. Learning from the mistakes chic women have made can hopefully help eliminate the issues going forward. So read on for a little look into those things we all do (and then regret), and then shop a few of our favorite stylish pieces that'll help you overcome whatever your style obstacles may be.
Not Knowing How to Layer
Mixing and matching our favorite staples is sometimes easier said than done. Even with the best intentions, it can be tricky to nail the best way to layer. Our rule of thumb is don't be afraid to mix prints and textures; if it's looking a bit bulky, be sure to add a belt.
buying things final sale and regretting it
While we're all for a great sale, it's important to keep an eye on whether you can return whatever you're buying. We've all fallen victim to buying a final-sale item only to have it arrive and not fit.
Splurging on Something Just Because It's on Sale
Seeing markdowns can be enticing, but we try to keep one thing in mind before pulling the trigger on a new purchase: Would you spend the equivalent of the sale price if there weren't a discount? If the answer is no, it's worth taking a step back before checking out.
Not Getting Items Tailored
In our busy lives, finding the time (and money) to drag things to the tailor can be a chore. But time and again, we've found that the results can mean the difference between a good piece and a great one.
Going Too Hard Into a Trend
We're all for road testing the trends, but one thing we've all fallen victim to is getting lost in them. While stylish women tend to keep their personal perspective on fashion when picking which trends to try, every once in a while that gets lost.
Wearing The Same Thing Over and Over Again
There are staple pieces we come to rely on as outfit pillars. But when the same jacket or T-shirt is all we've worn to work this week, it's time to shake things up.
