While fall fashion has historically reigned supreme in my book, I am becoming more and more of a summer-fashion convert this year. How could I not? The outfits have been on fire, from all the Y2K reemergence speaking to my preteen soul to the bevy of classics I can't believe I still don't own. If there were an award show for this year's style, this summer's outfits would have cleaned up.

The stylish set of editors and influencers who have been discussing all things Macy's with me over the course of the last few months have been a huge factor in my newfound love for summer style. This month, they opted for warm weather–ready pieces for their midsummer looks, and I'm especially impressed by some of these prints. Keep reading to see what I mean.

What trends are you looking forward to bringing into a more transitional season come August?

This summer, I've been getting so much use out of versatile basics. I love neutral/earth tones, crop tops, shorts, skirts, and pants. It's so easy to make a lot of outfits out of minimal pieces like these.

Are you experimenting with your looks outside of your usual style?

This season, I'm staying more toward my comfort zone with my looks. I love knowing I'm investing in pieces that I'll be able to use over and over again in my closet without certain trends phasing out.

What's been your favorite trend of summer so far, and how are you refreshing it for July?

My favorite trend so far this summer has to be the focus on textures! I love wearing a lot of earth tones and muted colors, which can grow a little stagnant after a while, but when you mix different textures together, I feel like it brings a whole new element to looks and adds eye-catching details.

What trends are you looking forward to bringing into a more transitional season come August?

I can't wait for more structured styles juxtaposed with laid-back looks as we start going back to regular life. I'm currently living in my ribbed tanks and Bermuda shorts, but I'm looking forward to adding a structured blazer over the same outfit as the season changes.

Are you experimenting with your looks outside of your usual style?

At first, I was here for making a statement with my trendier looks as I ventured out more, but I've found myself reverting to my pandemic ways. I'm still finding things that are cool and new but that are also on the comfier side (because this whole wearing-heels-again thing is tough).

What's been your favorite trend of summer so far, and how are you refreshing it for July?

My favorite trend is strappy sandals. While I was wearing them a lot with dresses and jeans, I've officially moved on to pairing them with long Bermuda shorts.

What trends are you looking forward to bringing into a more transitional season come August?

I've been loving sheer scarves, light maxi dresses, and oversize tops (like this printed one). In my opinion, these pieces have been the ones that make me feel the chicest and most stylish, which is why I'm stocking up.

Are you experimenting with your looks outside of your usual style?

A little—I really do love the comfort of my usual style because it's when I feel most beautiful. I may switch a few things, for example, tennis shoes as opposed to heels, but generally, I stay within my personality.

What's been your favorite trend of summer so far, and how are you refreshing it for July?

Definitely colorful sets. And I plan on styling all the ones I have and the ones I will purchase in many different ways.

What trends are you looking forward to bringing into a more transitional season come August?

truly think the biggest trend this year is dressing joyfully—dressing for yourself, wearing the things you love rather than letting them sit in your closet. I know the day will come when we'll fall back into old habits, but for now, I plan on staying inspired and taking my favorite pieces out on the town, to the grocery store, anywhere, really.

Are you experimenting with your looks outside of your usual style?

Always! But my motto is fewer, better things, so it's not about buying things on a whim so much as getting a little out of my comfort zone and broadening my idea of what feels like me.

What's been your favorite trend of summer so far, and how are you refreshing it for July?

Ruffles and tiers are everywhere this summer, but I prefer pieces that aren't too fussy. I really like more minimalist takes on the trend.
