We've all been there. You needed to leave the house five minutes ago but are still grappling with your outfit. The next time you're in a pinch and want to look instantly polished, try emulating Michelle Obama's new outfit: Go monochrome and pick shoes that match your dress. Yep, it's as simple as that.

Obama appeared on the Today show wearing the Rachel Comey Sunder Stripe Viscose Dress ($675) with matching white pumps that looked crisp and put-together. Obama was on the show to celebrate International Day of the Girl and to reveal her latest project, The Global Girls Alliance, which supports young girls' education around the world.

"When girls get the opportunities they deserve, amazing things start to happen; poverty goes down, economies grow, families get stronger, and babies are born healthier," the program's website explains. "And the world, by all accounts, gets better." How can you possibly argue with that? Scroll down to see Obama's outfit and shop the look for yourself.

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
