Meghan Markle Just Announced She's Pregnant With Her First Child

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex just arrived in Australia for their first royal tour, and after landing at Sydney International Airport, Kensington Palace announced on behalf of the couple that they are expecting their first child in spring 2019. "Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public," the Palace tweeted. "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019."

The royal family were told the news at Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank on Friday at Windsor Castle, according to a spokesperson. This is, of course, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married on 19 May. Markle wore a half-buttoned Givenchy navy-blue coat to the wedding, which caused much speculation on social media that she may be pregnant.

Meghan's Givenchy wedding look.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Sydney last night after a 22-hour flight. Instead of a formal photocall of the couple disembarking the plane like we often see on royal tours, Meghan opted for a low-key outfit wearing slim black trousers and a black coat with a maroon lapel. She carried a stack of ring binders in one arm—showing that pre-tour research was her in-flight entertainment.
