Megan Fox's Red Carpet Updo Was Created Using 4 Products—All Just $14
When we think of Megan Fox, we think of her signature hairstyle, which is long, straight, and shiny. It's been her go-to look for as long as we can remember. Not just in Jennifer's Body—we're talking all the way back to the early 2000s when she starred in the millennial-favorite movies Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Holiday in the Sun. (Honestly, we think about those movies at least once a day.)
Lately, though, she's been switching it up. Whether it's her recent red carpet bangs or that time she went full pink-blonde, she seems to be experimenting with style, color, and texture. And that's certainly the case for her latest look, which she wore to the GQ Men of the Year Party last night. If we had to describe it in two words, it would be "romantic updo." With her long, wavy lengths tucked up into a bun at the crown of her head, it's giving modern-renaissance vibes.
Keep scrolling to get a step-by-step guide to re-creating the look, straight from her hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons. Hint: It only takes four products, and they cost $14 each.
Fitzsimons styled her hair using products exclusively from his namesake brand. To start, he prepped her hair by applying this leave-in conditioner evenly from her mid-lengths to her ends. It's a 10-in-1 product, so it does everything from repairing damaged hair and split ends to detangling, preventing flyaways, and providing shine.
Before reaching for any heat tools, Fitzsimons sprayed her hair all over with this volumizing product in an effort to lift her roots and add flexible texture. Once that was done, he gave her hair a blowout and curled it with a one-inch curling iron.
From there, he pulled a large section of her hair out from the front and parted it to frame her face. He took the rest into a high ponytail and sprayed this texture spray throughout for an undone, touseled effect. "Using my finger, I pulled out small sections of the ponytail and curled them around my finger, pinning them back into the ponytail one by one to create a messy-bun effect," he says.
The final step was to use this strong-hold hair spray so her style wouldn't budge. All in all, it's not too difficult of a style to re-create, right? And it's definitely not too tough on your wallet.
