My Jaw Dropped When I Saw Megan Fox's Red Lip—These Are the Exact Products
I'm not sure if you've noticed, but Megan Fox has really been killing it in the fashion and beauty departments lately. Not that she hasn't always killed it, mind you, but lately, our fingers are working overtime screenshotting all of her cool AF vibes. Remember her self-proclaimed "Versace Hogwarts uniform" from a couple of weeks back? We still can't get it out of our minds. It was that perfect.
Of course, one of our favorite ways to accessorize a bad-ass outfit is an even cooler makeup aesthetic, and Fox hasn't left us disappointed. In fact, while on set for her upcoming horror film, Till Death, she snapped this pic—starring the juicy red lip of juicy red lips—which has garnered nearly 900,000 likes on Instagram. So, being the huge beauty snoops and Fox stans that we are, we obviously had to get every last detail. One of our favorite celebrity makeup artists Tobi Henney frequently works with Fox, and she also happens to be the on-set artist responsible for the aforementioned look. She describes it as "classic red glam," and we were lucky enough to get the full application and product breakdown from her. Keep scrolling! Every iota of intel you need to re-create the actor's stunning red-lip moment is just below.
Step #1: Prep Your Skin
Henney started the process by prepping Fox's skin with an icon in the moisture department: Augustinus Bader's The Cream ($265).
"I also wanted to give her skin a hint of golden glow, so I used the Victoria Beckham Beauty Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer in Golden ($145)," adds Henney.
Step #2: Perfect Your Base
To create a seamless finish and to keep the blending process effortless and quick, Henney recommends using a Beautyblender ($20) to lightly apply your favorite foundation.
On Fox, she used Clé de Peau Beauté's The Foundation ($250), concentrating her application on the center of the face to start (where people generally need more coverage) before blending out.
If you have certain areas where you might want more camouflage action (think the under-eyes, a pimple, etc.), Henney recommends using a soft, malleable concealer. She used the above formula from Nars on Fox.
To maintain Fox's signature glow while still keeping excess oil from creeping in, Henney suggests powdering but being strategic with your placement and formula. For instance, she suggests only powdering the T-zone and using a high-quality option like her favorite from La Mer.
Step #3: Dial Up Your Warmth and Glow
If you're wondering about Fox's sun-kissed, beautifully bronzed finish, you can blame Tom Ford's Shade & Illuminate palette ($88)—a go-to for Henney when she wants to add some extra warmth to her clients' complexions.
Next comes highlight. Henney tells us she pressed Dior's Backstage Face & Body Glow ($38) into the tops of the cheekbones and down the center of the nose for a natural, lit-from-within result.
For an extra hit of warmth, Henney bronzed Fox's cheeks, temples, and jawline using Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze & Glow ($68).
Step #4: Add Some Eye Smolder
First things first, to prep Fox's eyes, Henney used MAC Cosmetics' Groundwork Paint Pot ($23) all over the actor's lids. Try choosing a shade that's similar to your natural skin tone to create a nice base.
Next, give your lashes some nice lift and curl. This will really make your mascara application pop later on. Henney uses a cult favorite, the Kevyn Aucoin Lash Curler ($21).
To re-create the actor's warm and earthy eye shadow look, Henney says to softly blend the matte-brown tone from Dior's Amber Neutrals Palette ($49) into the crease of the eye before adding the golden eye shadow tone all over the lid. Then, smudge a little of the warm brown tone on the lower lash line to create a nice balance between the upper and lower lid.
Last, create a winged-liner look using Tom Ford's Eye Defining Liquid Pen ($59).
Step #5: Define Your Brows
"Use Benefit Cosmetics' Goof Proof Brow Pencil ($24) to create a beautiful brow," notes Henney.
To keep your work in place, do like Fox and Henney, and use a clear brow gel to keep everything move-proof. The Nars formula that Henney used is no longer available, but we're obsessed with this new drop from Kosas.
Step #6: Give Yourself a Rosy Flush
"On Megan's cheeks, I used Ilia's Multiple Stick in A Fine Romance ($34) for a rosy cheek look," Henney tells us.
Step #7: Nail That Lip
"For the perfect red lip line, first prep by applying Aquaphor's Lip Repair Ointment ($4). It's best to apply it when you're doing your initial during skin prep so it can settle and really have time to sink into your lips," says Henney."
Next, follow Henney's lead and line the lips using Giorgio Armani's Smooth Silk Lip Pencil in 05 ($30).
Last but certainly not least, apply Bare Minerals' BarePro Longwear Lipstick in Cranberry ($20). Use a tissue to blot the color and reapply for lipstick longevity.
Step #8: Top It Off With an All-Over Glow
Henney's parting tip: "To complement this classic makeup look, use Elle Effect's self-tanning mousse for a gorgeous bronzed body!"
