Margot Robbie Just Wore the French Jacket Trend That's All Over Mango
In my opinion, Margot Robbie is one of actually very few celebrities who rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to, well, everything, but particularly her style. Over the last few years, the actress has wowed us with many a red-carpet look, as well as chic off-duty outfits and press trip ensembles that quite frankly, stopped me in my tracks. From an Oscar De La Renta gown at the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood premier that nodded to the 70s, to that barely-there green Bottega Veneta dress worn this week, not to mention countless of dreamy Chanel looks, Robbie and her stylist Kate Young are a fashion force to be reconned with. And this week they're at it again, with Robbie recently stepping out in the timeless jacket trend loved by French girls: A tweed jacket.

As part of the BAFTA Life in Pictures event, Robbie and Briony Hanson, Director of Film at the British Council, hosted an in-depth discussion of the actress' career, looking back at her varied filmography to date as well as what's coming up next for the star. And while I was gripped by the conversation between these two amazing women, I have to admit that it was Robbies' sensationally good suit that my eye kept wondering back to; For the occasion Robbie wore a black Chanel two-piece comprising of a longline tweed jacket and wide-leg trousers.
Luckily for us, this is a trend we can easily replicate at home. Having already become a firm favourite in myriad of French fashion girls' wardrobes, tweed jackets have started to filter through to the masses, and are now available in plenty of cuts, colours and price points. Hurray!

One brand which is nailing the look right now is Mango. Take a look at their site and you'll find an impressive collection of tweed blazers, cropped styles and bright, fun iterations as well as plenty of inspo on how to style the trend. I'll be wearing mine with a t-shirt and jeans, swapping my heeled-ankle boots for heels come evening, but you could also wear your tweed of choice with wide-leg trousers à la Robbie, with a slip skirt or dress, and with leather trousers for a cool mix of textures.

Shop Mango Tweed Jackets:
I love this whole look. Go up a size if you wanted a slightly more relaxed fit, as this blazer is quite narrow on the shoulders and arms.
Thanks to the pretty jewelled buttons, this style is particularly perfect for party season.
Is there anything more Parisian than red tweed paired with stripes? I think non.
Shop More Tweed Jackets:
This is one of the chicest jackets I've seen this season. Tweed + navy = a winning combo.
The perfect party season jacket.
If you look closely, you can see the delicate embellished detail on this beautiful blazer.
This pale pink iteration is so pretty. I love it worn with white denim as above, but you could also toughen it up with black.
For those that love a more classic fit, this Theory blazer is well worth the investment.

Poppy joined the Who What Wear UK team as managing editor in 2022. After graduating from university with a degree in English literature, she worked for a number of print and digital publications, including Women's Health, The Times, Hello! and Marie Claire. In these roles she assisted the fashion teams with print content as well as digital shopping features, shoots and celebrity news.
Prior to Who What Wear, Poppy worked at SheerLuxe as the commercial content manager. There she oversaw all paid-for site content and inclusions, managed the visual assets and briefs for branded content, and ensured all content—whether editorial or commercial—was in line with overall brand guidelines and tone. She also supported the editorial team by looking after visual merchandising on site and reviewing the brand’s daily newsletters.
As WWW UK’s managing editor, Poppy spends most of her time looking after the content calendar and all output across the brand, in addition to working with contributors, supporting with social media planning, assisting with branded content and contributing to brand strategy. Poppy prides herself on being organised, and a keen eye for detail means she oversees the production of tentpole moments such as Who What Wear’s quarterly celebrity covers, the Wedding Issue, team shoots, events, industry-facing moments, gift guides and more. In addition to this, Poppy ensures processes across the brand are efficient and effective, and is always on the lookout for ways the team can work smarter, not harder! As someone who works behind the scenes (Poppy loves a spreadsheet!), you won’t find many articles by Poppy on site, but when you do there’s no doubt they will either be focused on dresses, handbags or classic high-street buys. Or better yet, all three!
Born and raised in London, Poppy is a true city girl. When she's not thinking about clothes (or raiding her mum’s wardrobe), Poppy fills her time walking along the river with her 11-year-old labradoodle, getting stuck in a good book and enjoying as many of the city’s amazing restaurants and bars as her purse will allow! Her favourite London spots are Caravel for dinner, the Ham Yard Hotel for a fancy pre-theatre drink, Daunt Books for a new read, 26Grains for breakfast and Coal Drop's Yard for a spot of shopping.
