I Already Know These 5 Mango Buys Will Be Best Sellers This Autumn
As Who What Wear editors, it’s our job to bring you the very best pieces to shop. Think of us as your personal style filter. We scroll through hundreds of pages of new-in products and use our years of industry expertise to whittle it down to the pieces we actually believe are worth buying, whether that means investment pieces from the likes of The Row or Manolo Blahnik that you’ll no doubt cherish in your collection forever, high-street buys that tick off the hottest new trends, or—my personal favourite—affordable classics that look just as good as designer styles.
Today, I’m focusing my research on Mango in particular, one of my all-time favourite high-street destinations for on-trend pieces that last way beyond just one season. And apparently, I’m not the brand’s only fan. So often I come across winning pieces on the site only to find that everyone else has beaten me to them, and the items are now sold out. So as we head into late summer and start to think about autumn/winter (it might sound mad in a heatwave, but remember September is only days away), I'm planning on getting ahead and investing in those hero buys early to avoid disappointment.
It helps that Mango has just dropped an epic new collection. It has a mostly Western vibe (always one of my favourite autumn trends and set to be huge for A/W 22 in particular), and although there are so many great pieces, I’ve pinpointed five in particular that really stand out. From a fringed jacket I’ve seen all over Instagram already to a pair of embellished slingbacks you may well find familiar, these are items that, from experience, I can basically guarantee will sell out. I plan on styling them all up now with more summery pieces and then layering them up throughout autumn and winter.
Keep scrolling to see my top five buys from Mango right now.
1. The Fringed Jacket
Mango has been teasing its shoppers with this jacket for a couple of weeks now, including it in its new-in section with a tempting "coming soon" label. In that time, I've already seen it doing the rounds on editors' and influencers' social media, with so many stylish people saying they'd signed up to be informed the second it became available. That moment was yesterday, and honestly, I'm surprised there are still sizes left today. With the Western trend set to be huge for this season, this is a key buy you don't want to miss.
2. The (Faux) Leather Trousers
Mango's leather and faux-leather trousers couldn't be restocked fast enough last year, and it quickly became known in the industry as the best affordable destination to find this autumn wardrobe staple (if you were lucky enough to get your hands on a pair). This brand-new style just landed, though, and with wide-leg trousers being the pants of choice for 2022, we can only imagine these selling out extremely fast when the weather starts to chill. Get ahead of the crowds, and buy them now if you want to feel smug.
3. The Embellished Slingbacks
Okay, okay. We know these look a lot like a certain luxury designer shoe (cough, cough). But a dazzling shoe this good for under £60? Who are we to argue?
4. The Perfect Trench Coat
A trench is the ultimate versatile piece. It works over a tank and miniskirt now on cooler evenings and then layered up with tailoring and knits in autumn and even winter. This one in particular looks way more expensive than it actually is, with the perfect amount of oversized slouch to not drown you. There's no doubt it will make all your autumn outfits look better.
5. The Cowboy Boots
In addition to seeing cowboy boots everywhere from Instagram to the runways, we also just saw them everywhere on the streets of Copenhagen Fashion Week. Right now, these are listed as "coming soon," but you'll want to jump on them as soon as they drop, so be sure to sign up for email notifications.
