24 Statement Pieces From Mango That Will Instantly Elevate Your Wardrobe

This time of year, it’s easy to make a habit of dressing in an autumnal palette. Whilst florals are for spring (supposedly), this season has its own uniform: neutral tailoring, camel coats, beige cashmere and "fall colours,” which usually consist of pumpkin oranges, rich aubergines and earthy greens that reflect the nature of the changing season. Maybe we opt for neutral and muted tones around this time of year because we spend summer drenched in pastel-printed dresses, or maybe we just like to save our statement-making attire for party season, but sometimes, I look at my outfit in the mirror and catch myself hearing Kate Moss say, "Drama! I want more drama! Where’s all the drama?” And I think to myself, Yeah, where is all the drama? I find myself wondering why the colour in my wardrobe has been depleted, especially since we’re in an era that’s celebrating saturated hues such as Kermit green, Barbie pink and electric blue.
Luckily for me, Mango’s recent collection combats exactly this problem and is bringing some vibrancy to autumn. Monochrome dressing is out in full force with bold head-to-toe hues of cherry red and ultraviolet, and leopard print is the only print that matters. And before all the minimalists write this collection off, there are still plenty of compelling trophy pieces in more neutral palettes, including a black leather blazer and cargo pants.
Of course, you can opt for a colourful head-to-toe look, but if wearing three bright-red layers feels like too much, then may I suggest a bold coat or a statement pant layered with something more subdued? (Take a look at the knit dress I’ve already put in my basket.) Maximalists, on the other hand, should try colour-blocking (is it just me, or do leopard print and emerald green feel like an amazing pairing?) or mixing and matching textures like faux fur and shearling.
If you look to any trend experts (Pantone, WGSN, Etsy), you’ll find that their much-anticipated "Colour of the Year” predictions make an appearance in this collection. It seems that after years of surrounding ourselves with calm, muted tones, we’ve officially hung up our grey sweats for unapologetic, statement styles. And frankly, who can argue with that?
If you’re ready to join the party and inject some colour into your arsenal, take a look at these 24 styles from Mango.
A leather blazer is a must for autumn, and I love this distressed effect.
These would be great for those who like to look elegant—even at the airport.
These jeans combine two things I love: statement pants and leopard print. Of course, I'll be having them.
I love the geometric layering at the bottom of this shift dress, as well as the chain-tie detail.
Another staple with a fun twist. I would wear this under a summer slip dress to make it more autumnal.
Whether you love them or hate them, Y2K cargo pants are back and here to stay.
For days when your camel coat feels a bit boring, this is a vibrant alternative.
I can imagine Bella Hadid styling this with low-rise leather pants and boots.
