There seems to be a new man in Malia Obama's life, and the young couple just made their public debut, simultaneously putting their winter style on display while out and about in SoHo over the weekend. The lucky guy in question is fellow Harvard student and 19-year-old Rory Farquharson of the UK. Obama and her alleged British boyfriend (according to USA Today) seemed to fit in perfectly for a walk around NYC, with Obama donning a pair of combat boots, tights, and a mini dress (a longtime favorite piece of hers) and Farquharson opting for jeans, a tee, sneakers, and of-the-moment sunglasses.

It was the potential couple's choice of outerwear that they clearly agreed upon, as both opted to don puffers—a wise choice, considering it is January. While puffers have been a major trend the past few winters, with even designer brands releasing multiple iterations of the cozy style, we can only hope that the puffy coat craze is here to stay—because warmth.
